Alrighty... so I took a big break from cubing the past few months. I haven't quit! Just a break. With this new set coming out, I'm adding/testing a LOT of cards.
I have two decks that I have to post that I haven't got to yet, then I'm going to be making all my War of the Spark cuts. I should be able to make these changes tonight and post them in the change log. It's going to be significant because this set is pretty intense, especially since we are getting a new card type!
We got a cube in the other night. We had all the War of the Spark cards in the pool, so it was a ton of fun. The planeswalkers, with our initial play through, seemed to do well. I'll keep putting them in the pool to test them out.
Love what you're doing with the Power Rankings! I have a question. I do 4 man cube draft a lot and I was wondering how many packs and cards per pack do you usually draft with 4 players? Thanks!

Sorry it took me so long to see your post. I do 4 man drafts a lot as well. I've experimented with a variety of different pack sizes over the years and my go-to favorite for a while has been 4 packs of 11 cards.
I've tried 3 of 15, 5 of 9, but 4 of 11 has been the most consistently successful. You get 2 extra cards on the 3rd wheel and the decks always seem super refined and powerful. I highly recommend doing 4 of 11.
My go-to is also 4 packs of 11 cards. But lately, I've been testing 6 packs of 15 cards, pick one, burn one (It's called Burn/Glimpse Draft, there's actually a thread about it if you never heard about it). I think that I'm starting to prefer this method over 4x11. Still need to test a lot more though, got 3 drafts in so far and the decks seem very powerful and refined.
It uses your whole cube (360 cards) and simulating a 8 man draft. It allows people to go for the archetype they want to play and not worry about their cards not included in the pool. Example, say a player wants to play tokens and they have Intangible Virtue in their first pack. If you play 4x11, taking Intangible Virtue is a huge risk because you don't know if Spectral/Lingering/Battle Screech are among the 176 card pool you took to make the booster packs. While by using 360 cards Burn draft, you KNOW for a fact the token generators are in the pool, just have to hope that nobody picks it or burns it (just like in a 8 player, 360 cube draft).
You should definitely try it if you have the time. But glad to have found someone who plays a lot of 4 man cube draft. Also glad that we're on the same page about 4x11!
Big fan of your cube and have followed it for some time. I took about a year off magic and I'm back to look at your changes and possibly make the same changes to mine.
How do you feel about the state of the cube? Between my iteration and yours, there are about 150 cards different. Before I make the enormous change, are you happy with it in its current state?
Thanks for always keeping us up to date here and on cubetutor with Peasantville!

The state of the cube is obviously always changing, depending on your playgroups and play styles, but I've been cubing for so long now that the word I would use to describe it would be "consistent". I'd like to think that I have my list pretty refined, for the archetypes and style of play that I'm supporting.
It's funny.. if you check my change log from the first few years of the cube, changes were happening all the time and in droves. It slows down as the cube gets more refined and consistent. Changes now are usually just archetypical changes or for underperforming cards.
The cube is in a great spot right now. Everyone is having fun and the decks are coming out how I'd like them to. Every color does the job I want it to do and the color pairs are doing what I want them to be doing, while still making spots for pet cards of course (as every cube owner should... i'm looking at you Bloodhunter Bat).
I'd be interested in seeing your list to see that 150 card difference. What's making you consider changing your list to mine? Are you encountering certain issues? Power level? Removal/Nonremoval ratio? 5-color value decks running rampant?
I wouldn't suggest such a big change like this unless you just want a "big change" or if you are experiencing problems with your cube.
Thanks for following the cube!
*I've been super busy this winter with my job. The cubes will be picking back up in a few weeks.

My current list is mostly a mirror of one of your previous iterations with a few personal favs. I've never held the knowledge nor been able to play the amount of games I'd like to feel comfortable updating it with new sets. I've mostly followed your advice because the cube has always been fun (even when it was extreme valuetown about 4 years ago).
I'm getting back together with my old group in March and we are going to rotisserie draft it before. So, when I wanted to update it, instead of sifting through the 7 sets worth of new C/UC, I just follow your advice. You know your stuff when it comes to peasant! Flash Simic looks especially interesting and I'm curious how it performs vs the field.
Flash Simic was something I recently started supporting more heavily. It's been an incredibly fun deck. I made sure that both blue and green had access to flash creatures throughout most of the curve. (Frilled Mystic will be coming in for Kiora on my next update)
Took a couple months off there due to the Holiday season at my job. Getting a cube in tomorrow and then another one this Thursday. I will most likely have all the cards from the new set added for Thursday's cube. This new set really had some goodies that I'll be excited to test out. I will post the results from tomorrow early this week.
Got a cube in the other night following the massive 70+ card cube change! Haven't posted it to the change log yet, but my cubetutor is currently updated with the huge change.
I'm a fan of the UG flash deck, and think I might want to try supporting it a bit more in my cube. Are there any cards you consider must include for the archetype? Also have you ever tried Beast Attack? Card seems sweet in this sort of deck
We got a 4-man cube draft in last week. Mono red took it home!
Also, Ravnica Allegiance add/cuts are being made tonight! Can be seen in Change Log on 1st page.
