A few more changes today:
-Tidehollow Strix
+Cavern Harpy
-Fireslinger
+Sparksmith (There are enough Goblins to support this)
-W/B Hedge-Mage
+Castigate
-Leonin Bola
+Wayfarer's Bauble
Harpy seems really good with all the Shriekmaw abilities as well as like morphs and mulldrifter. I have been cutting some black removal spells for more black aggroish cards as I think every color should have an aggro deck except blue. I drafted skull collector a couple days ago and was very impressed.
I haven't been too happy with the Fireslinger and I'm going to try sparksmith because there are like 8 goblins in red as well as like 3 hybrids and some changelings.
Everytime I draft the W/B hedge-mage I always cut it. I have been very happy with mesmeric fiend and tidehollow sculler in this cube though so I'm adding castigate. I like it more than gerrard's verdict because it allows you to get their best card and the information is good.
I cut the bola because I don't ever see myself wanting to play it. If I'm aggro my creatures are already turning sideways and if I'm control I don't feel like I have enough creatures to support it.
A few more artifacts I've been considering adding:
Coldsteel Heart
Mindstorm Crown
Infused Arrows
I kinda......and I mean kinda wanna put in skyreach manta.
ALSO VERY IMPORTANT NOTE
Plagued Rusalka>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Festering Goblin
Also I have not been in anyway impressed with Carrion Feeder so I cut it for the Ghost-Lit Discard Guy. I'll let you know how that works out.
I'll post my current cube list in another day or two hopefully.
Have you tested out Street Wraith yet? Cycling for no mana early game seems like good stuff while it's also a solid creature w/ swampwalk later. Me and my friends played a similar version to yours except lacking some of the older cards and it seems like a really powerful cube considering there are no rares.

The Cavern Harpy comment is funny because we talked about this exact change last night. Seems like it could be good. I'll try it out. I like that Fireslinger can hit players. I've recently cut Blind Hunter & Pillory of the Sleepless for Restless Apparition and Gerrard's Verdict. I on the other hand, like Verdict more than Castigate. I can see your point with Bola, but I think that there sometimes is the mid-range control deck that likes that card. I ended up cutting Bauble in the beginning. Soon I'll be adding Aeolipile. Also regarding artifacts, there are actually a million answers to Darksteel Colossus and I was right to cut that card in the first place.
I went 3-1 with this deck. The losing match was a close three games where he drew Maze of Ith everytime and I never saw Wasteland. I haven't drafted an aggro deck in a while and I must say this one was a blast to play. The highlight of the draft was beating turn three Story Circle as I just overwhelmed his white sources with creatures and burned him out.
I'll post a full list of changes hopefully later today.
Yeah that mono red deck was insane. The fact that most of creatures ether had haste or comes into play effects was a pain for control. I played five matches with the deck i drafted that draft. First six games I won, next four games I lost :-/. One of the games I won my opponent played:
t1: Mother of Runes
t2: Sigiled Paladin
t3: Spectral Procession
Still a little unsure how I pulled that game out as that start was a bit unfair. I should also add that I passed Warhammer p1p1 for a Persuasion. My deck ended up awesome and I had a blast playing it. I knew I wouldn't enjoy a Warhammer deck as much.
I don't know how much different a common/Uncommon cube really is, but I can't imagine cutting Memory Lapse or Night's Whisper for any of the cards on the "In" list.

Agree. I couldn't imagine cutting Memory Lapse for anything - period. It's great in ANY blue deck. Night's Whisper fills a role in many black decks, that very few cards can, and thus really deserves a spot as well.

Memory Lapse was a tough cut to fit in Force Spike. I actually had Lapse played against me last night and it slowed my draw but ultimately wasn't a very scary card to face. Traumatic Visions might be a better cut but since it's only been in the cube a few weeks I felt that I'd give it more time and cut one of the many 2cc counterspells.
Night's Whisper has NOT been that good. The way I'm trying to shape black you'd much rather play a 2cc creature turn 2 to put some pressure on. It's a fine card for sure, and I've run it in a few drafts. But I don't have a very hard time cutting it.
no werebear? I love that little criter. Ramps you early game and proceed to be come big when you need it to.
It got cut. Green doesn't have that many expensive commons/uncommons to ramp into so that aspect is weaker in this cube. You also hit Threshold much less often than you might think. Frankly the card was usually a do nothing.
I agree, Werebear wasn't very good in cube. I cut him as well. It may be different in a common/uncommon cube though.
I like Werebear. I use him in my cube (where there are more non-creature spells, making Threshold easy to hit), plus he is usuable as a mana-producer too. Not amazing by any means, but I like him.
all the cards coming out are at the very least pretty good. The goal is to try and make the cube as powerful as possible (while still balanced) within the bounds of commons/uncommons.
At this point I think 50 cards per color is a good number as any more and some weak cards sneak in. In another block I'll most likely be able to expand but I'm pretty happy with the power of the cube at this point.
Also, THANKS to everyone who has commented and offered suggestions so far. I've been able to do a good overhaul of my list and enjoy some of the best matches I've had in while all because of your guys help!
I enjoyed your article. I would love to have a play with that Cube! I wish there were more players around here so I could multiplayer draft at all, to be honest.
I was surprised to see City of Brass there, I never knew that saw print at uncommon!

Evan Erwin graciously accepted my short article about the origins of my cube and it's up on his website now. I'd love to hear what you think:
