New Question: Invasion Taplands or Panoramas (only going in if I cant afford pains)
Excellent updates. You definitely need to play the thing though and see what cards work for you and cards don't. It will be easier for you to make cuts and additions when you see what ends up usually being 15th picks and what types of cards you desperately need.
As for the question above, I'd go for the Taplands. We ran the Panoramas for a bit, but they proved less than worthy.
I see that you guys are from VA. If you guys are going to the Starcitygames Prerelease in Richmond, I should have my cube if you guys wanna get a feel for how the format plays out or discuss how to approach getting your cube assembled. Definitely listen to these guys on here though. Lots of info available here.

Sorry, can't make it to that one. We're going to a local prerelease on Sunday. Thanks, though!
Alright the big question: Skullclamp or no Skullclamp? It will obviously be the most powerful card in my cube. Right now I'm not so sure about it, but my brother really wants it in.

One card have to be the most powerful right?
Listen to your brother. Put it in.

Powerful cards make for the best cubing. Another "yes" vote for Skullclamp.
Yes on Skullclamp. Just make sure you also have enough ways to get rid of it.

New Question: Invasion Taplands or Panoramas (only going in if I cant afford pains)
One last question: Should Mirrodin Talismans be the next 5 artifacts I add?
The taplands seem better than the Panoramas. However, why not play the Shards taplands, since they cover three colors instead of just two?
I would try the Borderposts over the Talismans. I cut the Talismans for the Borderposts in my cube. So far, only one person (a Borderpost hater in any format, it seems) has objected.
EDIT: I see "Trilands" on your list now. Presuming those are the Shards taplands, then I would run the Invasion taplands. You're doubling up on functionality a bit, but I do think the INV lands are better than the Panormas.
Yeah, the Trilands are the Shard taplands. Right now I have the borderposts in under lands, because they pretty much function as lands, imo.
Right now I think I will pick up the Mirage Fetchlands and allied pains(or INV taps if they pains are unaffordable) as my next investment in mana fixing.
Arcane Denial is a little weak. It's saucy if you counter your own spell, but who uses counterspells for that? Remand or Memory Lapse would be better, IMO.
Betrayal of Flesh has a nice effect, but it's *really* expensive for a removal spell.
I think your proposed suite of 5 artifacts are better than the Mirrodin Talismans.
Allied painlands > INV taplands. Now that the painlands are rotating out of Standard (and there are better options in the older formats), their prices should come down.
Thanks Dr.Tom. I was kinda flip-flopping on either Arcane Denial or Memory Lapse, so now I'll go with the lapse.
I've heard all kinds of great things about Betrayal of Flesh and want to try it out. If it doesn't work, oh well, its only like 50 cents anyways.
Yeah I'm really banking on the pains going way down. I hopefully they will fall to about $2.00, or I can get some Standard players to trade them at the prerelease.

Pains should sit at 3-4 I'd guess but don't know for sure. I also recommend Remand over Lapse, I don't really like Lapse but Remand is gas.
or dinosaur pirates!!! big hulking dinos with eye patches and peglegs and troll the ocean on their ships made of smaller dinosaur bones in search or treasures. I would sooo go for that. or better yet, slave dinosaurs that serve the pirates like some sick dinotopia world where people own the dinos.
Has anyone tried the the odyssey filter lands in cube? They're dirt cheap and at least seem better than panoramas and invasion taplands.
I use them in my "classic" cube, but that's mostly because there arent' any better alternatives. With that being said, they're still good lands. The fact that you can get like WU for 1 makes them decent.
I think I will use the Odyssey lands instead of the INV taps or panoramas. Yet another set of lands I forgot about. I really like that they are one of the few affordable lands that don't CIPT.
I think I will cut 1 card from each allied pair and add in the Mirage fetch lands, Odyssey filters, and the allied pains (or panoramas, if pains don't drop in price) in the next expansion.
Sadly, I was not able to draft the cube at the prerelease since I and one of my friends made it to the top eight, which was a draft. I'm not sure when I'll ever be able to draft it now; maybe not until I go back to college in the fall :(. I was able to pick up some good cards to add to the cube, though.
M10 Updates:
Vampires may be cooler, but Nantuko Husk is a Zombie, which is a much more relevant creature type. Especially when using Graveborn Muse and Sarcomancy (which you should if you're not currently).
7 Vampiric Aristocrat > Nantuko Husk (despite the fact that Vampires are cooler, Zombies are more relevent)
8 Extractor Demon > Graveborn Muse (card draw is good)
9 Dimir House Guard > Cemetery Reaper (good on its own, and nearly a third of your black creatures work with it)

When I get a Muse I'll change back to the Husk (it is white bordered, uggh), but any Cemetery Reapers are going straight into my "lets see how many lords I can stuff into here" Zombie Deck:D

And then pulled out and put into the cube when you draft cube? ...right? Good.

Yeah, I guess I could (already doing that with 3 of my brother's cards). I'm just trying to avoid that as much as possible. I don't want to have to rummage through half a dozen decks to put the cube together, or forget to bring those decks with me when I take the cube around and end up having missing cards.

Totally agreed. Also, Erhnam Djinn isn't that great. Ant Queen coming in for any of these three is a complete upgrade.
