I play QL Magic (www.qlmagic.com) a variant where players can only play with cards with the old Magic card frames. As such the format allows players to play with cards from Alpha up to Onslaught block. The format also uses an older version of the rules, which incorporates rules that have since been altered or simplified. In principle, QL Magic adopts the 6th Edition Rules, dated 1 June 2003, except for some modifications.
The main rules differences of QL magic are: Combat damage goes on the stack; Feedback damages: also known as mana burn, for what concerns mana still in the mana pool and that has not been used within the end of a phase; and Artifacts are turned off while tapped.
I notice some very interesting Classic Cube in the forum, now I would like to post my list in order to have some feedbacks from you. Thanks!!
Size: 450 Brackdown: 66 each colour, 30 guild, 50 artifact, 40 nonbasic lands Theme:QL magic Powered: yes, but we have defined to limit the number of P9 cards present in a QL Magic deck to 3. I looked over the list and it looks really nice, you're not really missing anything obvious as far as I can tell. I run a classic cube myself, alongside my normal cube although mine isn't as optimal as it could be, as I don't put a lot of budget into it. I just put in cards if I happen to acquire them.
You incorrectly put Skizzik in the 2CMC section btw. Red's two drops are incredibly lacking in general, so I've had to stretch a little by adding Goblin War Buggy to my classic cube. It's not fantastic, but he's playable and comes down on turn 2. Give him a try.
Edit: You should also post some pictures! Classic cubes look awesome.
Thank you for your kindly reply.
Skizzik is now in his proper place, and I have adjust all the cards links.
I think you're right about the incredibly lacking of Red's two drops cards. Maybe we could find a place for a 2 drop Red creature.
