Precursor Golem is a beautiful foil isn't it! The card's been really good for us, winning the game when it sticks. Its weakness against red is problematic at times, resulting in lost tempo, but at least you're at parity in terms of CA even if it gets bolted or Incinerated.
I've been on all sides of that golem. I've beat face straight to hell with it, I've also had it waxed with a bolt, and I have also bounced one with a repulse and into the roil, now that was fun
When I see Healing Salve, I'm often like "Oh girl, I wish I could turn every card into this." Thanks they removed the gain life part, otherwise this would have been broken.
it can't be blocked except by three or more creatures, which makes it similar to trample. no, i'm not saying it's the same. but i think viewing it as multiple threats isn't really accurate since at least some of the time it can be taken care of as if it were one threat. i think the most useful way to view it is as an evasive 9/3 that's resistant to some removal (like o-ring and etb guys).

But I don't consider it evasion. Nor do I consider cards that produce multiple tokens to have evasion. I know what you're saying, I just don't look at Precursor Golem and think "that's a 9/3 with evasion". I think of it as a token producer that puts 3 threats to the board for 5 mana, with an extra ability that's sometimes a boon and sometimes a drawback.
I'm definitely curious to see how good he is, and I feel like the fun factor could be off the charts. Hopefully I get some cubing in soon to get some data.
Also, I don't think having a 7cc and 10cc should preclude you from having a 5cc, Betote. I feel like 5cc is still below the threshhold for 'don't have too many' albeit barely. I saw if you want to play it, get him in there!

He's been super awesome for us! I mean the doom blades and the bolts are rough times for him, but other than that he's awesome! I had him and recurring nightmare one game and all I did was cycle him and muldrifter, keeping him in the graveyard during their turn protecting my millions of golems

Want to Cube but don't have one? Check the map if anyone is in your area and get cubing!
I listened to the cast the other night and enjoyed it. There wasn't much that was new for me, most had already been discussed here at some point.
I like your presentation style. You are enthusiastic but not proscriptive, and you organise your arguments clearly. I think you mentioned at some point that you are a teacher. If you teach class as well as you teach cube, your students are fortunate indeed.
For a future cast, would a discussion of a draft walkthrough be too much to ask? There is a lot on these boards about how to construct a cube, much less on how to draft one.

Thanks Humpty! We will definitely consider a draft walkthrough, as I think it would be a good idea. It would probably work better as a video (like a hole-cam from poker shows), but I like the idea.
GP foil update!
Picked it up for a spare Noble Hierarch I had, since I couldn't play in the main event.
I will be updating the OP and update log soon, but for now I had the camera out and wanted to take pictures of a lot of new foil acquisitions made in the past months, including a big haul from SCG Memphis. Here ya go!
How has Tezzeret 2.0 been working out for you in cube? It was pretty hard to pull off with my cube, but should be at least somewhat easier with a more condensed one.
Seen play once so far (just picked it up in Memphis), but it was baller. Basically turned a couple of signets into 5/5s and killed my opponent...I'll let you know more as time goes on.
And it actually wasn't my plan to include it, but when I was able to pick that one up for 75 in trade I couldn't resist.
As someone who loves managing their cube but never actually gets to play it, I was violently jealous reading that article. It sounds like a great concept...

regarding him dying to removal, yeah he does. but he's also an evasive 9 power guy for 5 colorless mana with a few incidental upsides.

i really enjoyed all of you podcasts, its nice for them to be to be about the very niche aspect of cubing in magic.
personally, episode 7.0 was prolly the most enjoyable, as im trying to continually strengthen the aggresive achetype in the cube.
keep up the good work,
