Updating this soon as I have been doing a massive overhaul. We don't 1v1 with my cube as much as we used to, that is what chimaeras cube is for now. Goal is to make it closer to 360 cards which means about 100 cuts. We shall see what happens when the dust settles.

Ok, List has finally been updated to at least more closely reflect its state as I do tend to cut/swap cards a lot as we cube.
Painful cutting a lot of good cards, pet cards, etc, to get closer to the 360ish goal. Like I had mentioned, Chimaera's cube has become the go to 6+ 1v1 cube. It Is with that that is driving my changes and more notably the 100 card cut. I'm going to avoid listing some of the changes that happened as it has been a year or since I last updated it. The quality of cards has continued to improve over the years and staples seem to get replaced as a result. Hopefully I will go back to updating more regularly.
Questions/comments always appreciated. As usual if you suggest cards please give me a reason, it may be different for me because of how we usually play. [we traditionally play 2v2 (not 2HG) so keep that in mind (see 1st post for more info).]

Those are the cards on my radar. Some are clearly just good while others are destined for EDH glory. Bottom line, these feel like the cards that will shape my cube and help me decide when to add the transform cards.

At the prerelease opinions were mixed on black cat. Quite a few people ended up including him on the premise that "well, hes ok.." but during games I heard muttering "stupid f@#%king Black Cat". I would vote against it personally.
I'm honestly only interested because of the random discard. I think it's easy to say random discard has a higher value then opponent chooses. Mesmeric fiend and the rats were in before as an example, albeit many changes have since happened. I'll give it a go and hopefully have results too post

I understand what you run. I just don't understand why a one mana kill spell isn't good enough
Because it's only conditionally a 1-mana kill spell.
Compare it to Disfigure. In the early phases of the game, that card kills like 40% more targets than Tragic Slip, and doesn't need a morbid trigger. That's a LOT of targets, including several really important ones.
In the later stages of the game, I have reliable creature removal available that doesn't require a Morbid trigger to function.
There isn't a single black spell in my cube that I'd come close to cutting for the Slip. In fact, I'd be much more likely to add in Undying Evil as long as I'm using a black 1cc card that requires a creature to die to do something of value. I'd also much rather add in Fume Spitter if I had the room. It kills the same number of creatures in the early game, but can also carry a Sword or beat for 1 when I need it to.

The Innistrad block has basically introduced an entire new "fuzzy" mechanic between werewolves and morbid. It really is hard to gauge those cards and even informed opinions are all over the place. That said, everybody is at least taking a look at the Slip I think. (right?)

I took a look at it. It's a fine filler removal spell for medium-large cubes, but it has no place in small tight lists, IMO. The other black removal spells are all too good/consistent to cut for a morbid-reliant one.
Maybe it's a result of our 2v2, but while I agree with your reasoning it also seems to go the other way. Having a creature die is one of the most common occurrences in a game. It's easy to do via combat. Granted my removal seems to have gone edict heavy now.

The fact that it kills big stuff (potentially) is nice with the slip but I would rather it had some nifty mechanic to kill hexproof personally.
I would've liked:
B
(no non morbid effect)
morbid -- opponent sacrifices a creature of your choice or two other creatures

Maybe 2v2 is different, IDK. Creatures die all the time, but I don't want to offer up trades in combat I wouldn't do otherwise simply to get my morbid to trigger.
The biggest advantage of the 1cc removal is being able to use it early. And this card isn't good until the mid-game when creatures tend to die in combat.
Tragic Slip holds value into the late game, but in that case I'd rather just be using a non-morbid piece of removal anyways.
Because it's only conditionally a 1-mana kill spell.

Agreed, I don't think Slip is really very good. There's a lot of black removal I'm not running that would make the cut before it. All of the ones you mentioned are better, Fume Spitter in particular.
Wish there was more data to give do far, but hellrider is a beating. Strangleroot geist and lone wolf are the only other cards to have seen play so far and they were in a rec/sur deck. Hope some of the other cards will be seen in some cubes. 3 cards so far and no regrets

Tragic slip has proven to be a 1 mana kill spell all the time. What's weird is how that is apparently not good enough. It got axed due to trimming. Vault of the archangel has been doing what I expected, making games swingy. Sorin, well not much to say but even without making a guy, 4 mana for an emblem is good. Odd still... No faithless looting yet. I was pumped to put it in right away but never did. Somehow I don't feel like I need it. Just unexpected there.

There's 5 cards on that list that are good enough to go in this cube, and only 4 of them made it into mine.

Ya, but not triggering until it dies takes so much value away from the discard.
