Captain of the Watch into Elesh Norn is pretty boss. I'd cut the Akroma first in this particular instance.
My friends actually find the tokens created by Captain of the Watch more threatening than the oft chance that Cloudgoat Ranger gets flying. I agree that Akroma is the better cut.

This is true, but the Cloudgoat costs less mana, and can fly when it needs to. Both of those factors are more relevant in 1v1 than in this multiplayer format though, I'm guessing.

Not necessarily. I think my peeps just value an army of 2/2 vigilence guys more than a potential single flyer.. Being able to combo off other soldiers is gravy..
And Cloudgoat's flight has been constantly negated by killing a single kithkin token. Requiring a Kithkin to tap, as opposed to a Soldier has been very restrictive for Cloudgoat Ranger for us..
It's the cost issue dude. 5 mana is different than 6. I've played both, and I think the Cloudgoat is significantly better. Evasion + less mana > extra power for extra mana, IMO.
If (when?) the main body is dealt with (especially if it's right away) having the card come out earlier and cost less mana is just so clutch. It's also easier to cast and protect (and abuse) because of the lower mana investment.

Yeah I don't disagree, but I was stating the fact on how our group tends to use it and comparing its abilities in a bubble. I'm waiting for white to have better 5-6cc creatures so that we can eliminate this debate altogether
I prefer captain over cloudgoat personally. I actually like the synergy it gives to other soldiers which is ever so abundant in white itself (elspeths, elite vanguard, decree cycle, elite inquisitor, soltari champion, mirror entity, hero of bladehold, cloudgoat ranger, gideon jura, martial coup),11 cards in total with 8 of them being devastating should you combo it (vanguard, decree and inquisitor being the weaker ones, although a decree for like 3 would still be devastating since you're dropping captain the following turn swinging for 6 vigilance tokens).
Cloudgoat may have evasion, but in the end, it's not both offense and defense at the same time. It is a mana less than captain, but I like the power captain offers more so than the evasion (especially in this multiplayer setting where your goal is to kill the guy in one turn).
I support the Elesh Norn for Akroma deal. Nothing beats making your opponent's creatures crappier and yours beefier, chopping those beatsticks into mediocre overglorified beings is pretty satisfying (and it's a mini-board wipe,-2 toughness). It's a wrath with a cutoff that doesn't apply to your own creatures.
Druidic Satchel is literally 2/3 chance to hit your situations at minimum, 3/4 if you run 12-13 creatures. Library manipulators are just "gravy" as you put it. I wouldn't mind seeing this card come in for contagion clasp (which is underwhelming).

It would take a lot for me to cut Cloudgoat. It's not even close to the chopping block, and that's in a powered 360 list.
I went to a couple of stores since yesterday (401 Cards & Friendly Troll in Toronto), and Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite was going for $15+; one store was even sold out on it.. So not worth $15.. I'll bide my time on that one.
Your changelog clearly states that you have replaced the echo creature with Elspeth Tirel.
Please take another look at that list, in case that the order is wrong for some of the other changes as well.
How do you update your cube in the forums? Do you store a master list, elsewhere, do you have a MTGSalv script generator, etc.. I just find it tedious, but maintaining my spreadsheet isn't a walk in the park either..
I added Karmic Guide back in last week (see Jan 3rd), 2 months after I took it out. To avoid confusion, I'll put the latest changes in the top.
I update by manually adding and removing cards in the first post.
It used to take a long time, but I've kind of become a pro at it now.
If there was a way to do it via Microsoft Excel... Well, that's be amazing!
I presently just copy the Card Name column from my spreadsheet into a blank worksheet as Column B, and Column A would be {CARD}, Column C would be {/CARD}. It gets annoying with the {SPOILER}{/SPOILER} tags and the proper spacing. I'll figure something out with my existing spreadsheet. I just want an easy way to generate my list.
I've finally updated my spreadsheet to include the MTG Salvation script tagging (See the ZIP file in the first post; worksheet named "mtgSalv"). But now it's just a matter of copying and pasting the entire worksheet into the forum. One minute of work effort to Copy & Paste? Yay!
Mind you, it's designed for the size of my cube sections, and the formulas would have to be updated if the sizes are adjusted. I'll work on that next..
Thanks Eidolon! I've made the updates to the typos in the 1st post. I'll upload the spreadsheets later.. I've also noticed that Chandra's Phoenix isn't on my list, but I swear I have it in the cube (replacing Ball Lightning). I'll doublecheck that tonight!
I think we, in this forum all agree that your efforts in provide each of us these statshave been amazing! Great to see what I run differently from others. How do generate these lists anyway?
Eidolon,
Wow, that's a much better answer that I can think of. That's pretty awesome! How many cubes is in your comparison list now? Do you take account of the sizes of the cubes as well? What about cube types, eg. peasant or other themes?
And I assume you a math or programming background? I'm impressed and very appreciative of your efforts in doing this!

84 updated ones and another 86 that are older than 3 months.
The different size of the cubes heavily influences both the similarity (-> overall effect), and number of unique cards that you use to normalize everything in step 7 (-> effect on one particular card).
I am only using a "regular" cube, so i have very little interest in doing the work for the (un)common cubes, and the old version of my program was not built to support multiple type of lists anyway.
However I have offered to share the code with whoever wants to do this for other type of cubes.
100 points. During school I have been successfully participating in Math contest (almost made it into the national team), which I also have chosen as one of my advanced courses. Now I am an Informatics student, but the code for this isn't complicated at all, and only a few 100 lines of code.
You have a good number of 170 cubes for a sample size. That's a great gauge as to see what cards are unique or common. The deviation of cards in cube isn't that great.
I'm also using my work experience in Excel to build my spreadsheet.
I use my spreadsheet to track the standard cube stats (colour, type, cc, set, etc), cube change history, and what version of the card I have, etc. And more recently I've categorized all cards in terms of abilities, mechanics, triggers, etc. This helps me figure out what card types or abilities what I need or have an abundance of. For example whether I have too much or not enough burn/removal, etc. But yeah, I've been maintaining a cube spreadsheet since 2006, and the file has grown in size and purpose in the past few years..
I've been reading that other cube owners have been running stats on cards per set. I did the same on my cube, and instead of Prophecy (Chimeric Idol), I don't have any cards in Savious of Kami and Weatherlight. What cards in those sets are still cubable??
And Portal/Starter, what cards in those sets are cubeable? I've heard Wildfire being one, which I am considering re-adding into my cube..

Wtwlf, I don't value Cloudgoat Ranger as highly as most, but white at 5cc drops off after Baneslayer Angel and Reveillark.
I think it drops off after BSA, 'Lark and Cloudgoat.
