I don't think we were trying to make a case for it being better than any of those listed cards -- it's pretty much common knowledge that all of those cards are in fact better. But Unmake is still a very good card, and should be in most Cubes.
Silent Edge's Tidbits of Wisdom: The Lewis Theory - When the presence of a single card makes every other card in your deck better (see Lewis, Ray). The Rubber Edict - You'd rather have it and not use it, than need it and not have it. The Shotgun Wedding - Don't commit early unless you absolutely have to.
it comes down to
the best 7 of these 10 cards.
based on everyone's thoughts prior posting, unmake was worse that the first 8. Yeah you can aruge against angel of despair or gerrard's verdict.
Since i really would like to have the best 7. feel free to discuss and hopefully we can get an accordance and i will keep the best 7.
(most likely cutting to the 7 each of each section in the next update)
Desolation Angel is a BW card that I'd never cut in any cube that allows its inclusion. It's a game-winner when it's cast in a majority of the games when it is.
This is very much a personal preference, but I am always drawn to multicoloured cards that stand as exemplars of their associated archetype. B/W is typically drafted as aggro-discard, and Tidehollow Sculler is a 2/2 for 2 who forces a discard. Similarly I like Suffocating Blast as a U/R card, because nothing screams counter-burn more than a card that counters and burns.
"When I use a word," Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, "it means just what I choose it to mean - neither more nor less." -Lewis Carroll, Through the Looking Glass
The problem/issue with Suffocating Blast is the necessity to have two GOOD targets. Perferably one of their creatures with 3 or less toughness and a spell of theirs. Otherwise, it gets murky -- sure, them having ANY creature or a spell is good -- lest that creature have Shroud. And you certainly don't want to 2-for-1 yourself when you Lightning Bolt your own creature to counter their spell (granted, there are times this will be warranted).
EDIT: Heaven forbid that card read, "Counter target spell and Suffocating Blast deals 3 damage to target creature or player". In that case, it's now the new $#!T and Prophetic and Electrolyze can move down a peg or two.
I agree with you that it represents UR EXTREMELY well, but I'd rather go with Prophetic Bolt or Electrolyze in that case.

I absolutely agree that Suffocating Blast has issues, and that the other cards are more powerful. I just like a card that says "Hi, I counter stuff and burn stuff. Play me in your counter-burn deck."

okay, so i am gonna make some major cuts in the multicolored section again (10 cards in total, 1 of each multicolor, gonna add one of each color in, + 5 artifacts). (Will only have 75 total multicors, 7 of each + 1 of each shard!)
I am gonna use the top 10 list to help me make the cuts. (pretty easy actualyl)
So in terms of adding, the one of each color pie was pretty easy, so i will need some with the additonal 5 artifacts
btw..I am probably gonna take Gerrard's Verdict over Unmake and Death Grasp in the B/W section. So again, Unmake doesn't make it (pun intended)
So here are the list of artifacts i am considering.
Pretty good list i think
Just for the record, Karn has been real unwhelming in our Cube. He's destroyed a couple of Moxes, got blocked by one of Meloku's tokens and got killed by a Rafiq when blocking. That's about it.
I love the addition of Tangle Wire, Mindstone, Etched Oracle (WIN!), Smokestack, Metalworker (it seems you'll have enough artifacts to fuel him) and Chaos Orb.
I know Quietus Spike has received some discussion, please let me know how it runs. Mirari was in our Cube, but promptly was removed. Cathodion was a recent add, 3/3 for 3 is solid. The others I can't really speak on, let me know how they work out!

hmm!
i might have to take out some other stuff as well to get all these goodies in
haha
Not sure if all these cards deserve spots anymore.

I'd rather see Mind Stone and Smokestack than either of those, if they're not already in (they're on the list at the top of this page... and not on the smaller list you posted below it). Karn, Silver Golem is a really fun card, that's busted as hell in the right deck/matchup.
I'd use:
Ring of Gix
Tangle Wire
Mind Stone
Smokestack
Karn, Silver Golem
It's land destruction and burn to the face. It's like the perfect red card.

Desolation Angel
Mortify
Stillmoon Cavalier
Debtors' Knell
Death Grasp
Unmake
those would be my vote. I could see someone going for Tidehollow Sculler over the Unmake however.

This would be my suggestion, although I'm torn on the Sculler vs. Unmake question.
I really need to get a Knell for my Cube.
Cheers,

Edit: Oops! I missed the Death Grasp on that list. I like Grasp and all, but I'd put it below those others and probably below Verdict.

Thoughts of what u think the best 5 are.
Ring of Gix, Tangle Wire and Mind Stone all probably deserve a slot.
I like Quietus Spike as an additional equip but i am okay with not having it in.
In terms of Creatures, Karn & Etched Orcale might be desreving as well
Take a gander and give me ur thoughts.
Chaos Orb (1,T sacrifice to destory target permanent)
