Not necessarily true since Magus starts digging/dumping on turn 3, which will matter once I get reanimator where I want it, and it can dig very deep as well. Besides, I don't really see them competing for slots.
I don't see Magus of the Bazaar competing for a slot with anything, honestly. The only reason Bazaar of Baghdad is any good is because you can use it's ability early and it's free. I wouldn't pay mana for that card disadvantage, and especially not when it's strapped to a really weak body. Merfolk Looter and all of his iterations are better by a country mile than Magus of the Bazaar. Even in a (blue?) reanimation deck... Magus just isn't good.
I am petitioning for the end of: the Mythic rarity, the Planeswalker card type, the post-8th edition card faces, the 2010 rule changes, colorless cards that aren't artifacts or lands, the Legendary supertype, the stack, auras, multicolor cards, artifact creatures, tokens, goblins, merfolk, elves, sorceries, instants, and permanents. Basically, I just want to play with purple contraptions.

The mods already deleted the entire post. Someone came into this thread and posted a link that had... inappropriate stuff and lots of pop-ups and browser window movement and stuff. Pretty typical virus-link crap, but still really annoying and childish.
What he said. I wouldn't run either of those cards either. You'd be much better off with any of the options that Aznopium suggested. Meloku and Morphling both need to find a home in your cube, asap. They are definitely a couple of the top blue cards for any (non pauper) cube to be running.
Meloku is on my short list of cards to get for the cube. It's going in anyway. Morphling is the highest rated for me out of the others you mentioned.
I'd rather not put Gifts Given in because of the chance of someone shuffling up cards from someone else's deck.
Aside from Cryptic the others are pretty marginal in my opinion. A friend of mine has my lone Cryptic, but he hasn't been able to access his cards in some time. If I ever get that back, it will go in. Until then I actually like Careful Consideration better than the other noncreature suggestions since it furthers my goal of pushing reanimator.
Off topic: I will be trying to give green aggro more of a push as well.
In case it's not already obvious, I'm on somewhat of a budget. Any expensive cards were most likely donated, traded for, or I just somehow had one on hand. Most suboptimal card choices are a result of this.

hmm. ok ok.. some of the 4CC wasnt that good. Fair..but seriously..Gifts Given i think is an absolute bomb... i am not really sold on the
"I'd rather not put Gifts Given in because of the chance of someone shuffling up cards from someone else's deck. "
a lot of cards get u control of ur opponents stuff or you place a spell that is attached to one of ur opponent's cards..like, arrest, pacifism, jounrey to nowhere. Pt is, cards are going between u and ur opponent all the time. It happens in mtg. So just got to be on top of it?
But i do understand the "I dont want to drop $30USD on it"
back to the convo:
I Would rarhter run these 5CC's Spells over Careful Considerations.
Desertion, Treachery, Bribery all need to be in as well. All those are pretty cheap as well..(between 1-3USD at least to me)
All should be auto-includes for Blue and definiltey over Careful Considerations and Traumatic Visions.
No careful considerations. don't do it. Stay Strong.
@ Aznopium: First of all, in my playgroup, shuffling cards from the other person's deck is a real possibility as I have a handful of noobs around. Hell, I'm trying to use this cube to teach some of them how to play better or at all. Secondly, I had no idea it was so pricey(really should have expected that), so unless one is given as a gift(:p), I won't be getting my hands on it.
As far as the staples you mentioned, I'm skeptical about Desertion being a staple. Don't get me wrong, I know it's good, but I can surely rationalize a cube without it. Bribery is okay and will probably make it into the cube. Treachery is amazing and will for absolutely sure be going into the cube. I know that all of these are better than Tramautic Visions and Consideration. Visions and the other basic land cyclers are on their way out anyhow, so I will be replacing them with suitable spells.
@ Phantizle: I didn't run Compulsive Research over Consideration because I forgot about it...That's the only reason and it will be going in.
Desertion may not be an auto-include, but it's can be incredible beating. Sure your opponent may be expecting a counter but they will rarely be expecting a counter that steals what they were trying to cast. It's pure sexiness. I've seen it take Phyrexian Processor, Masticore, Kokusho, and Woodfall Primus. Sometimes your opponent will figure that you have a counter and play around it, but that's not bad either.
Bribery is far more than OK. It's really great and I do consider that one an auto-include.
I second everything Rantipole said. Desertion has to be one of my favorite "fun factor" cards in the cube. At times it can just be mediocre but there are plenty of instances of it being an absolute blowout. The fact that it can randomly nab artifacts can also be very good, which is unique in terms of other cube worthy control magic effects.
Tiny update. Trading was pretty dismal tonight. I brought a list of 36 cards and managed to get 6 and only 5 of those are going into the cube. I found my Bargain as well.
All of the new additions seem to be pretty steep upgrades. Vines is so good; it's a lot more versatile than a meager pump spell. Magister Sphinx plays better with reanimation and with Tinker whenever I get that.
Your Blue and Black just got way better! This has reminded me I need to try out Vines of Vastwood: I can see "counter target removal spell" being good, with the pump as gravy. I don't know about the Sphinx: he seems fine but I think Sphinx of the Steel Wind is a better reanimator/Tinker target, and I have been very happy with Sharuum the Hegemon. Plus his ability suggests he may be in league with the vampires, so I don't trust him.
"When I use a word," Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, "it means just what I choose it to mean - neither more nor less." -Lewis Carroll, Through the Looking Glass
It was really a toss up between Steel Wind and Magister as far as a replacement goes. It really came down to whatever I could trade for tonight. I will probably give Steel Wind a shot in the future, but I don't feel too bad since Magister kills a lot quicker. Sharuum is already in my cube and it has yet to do very much cube-wise, but I know how good the card is, so it's not going anywhere.
I haven't actually played with Vines yet, but I have seen it do plenty of good in Standard and it's ability to be a counterspell is probably better than scrying in most cases.
These see like fine swaps. I do really like Innocent Blood, but Disfigure may prove more useful. I'd probably cut Raven's Crime or Executioner's Capsule instead.
I forgot to update my list a little apparently. Executioner's Capsule had already been dropped for Smallpox which is another Edict effect to fill in for Innocent Blood. I wanted to keep Raven's Crime over Innocent Blood because it's something that aggro decks and even reanimator decks can use more readily. Control has plenty of removal options still, so I'm not worried.

Oh I do too. I think the cube is to the point where it's pretty solid and I feel okay to drop a decent card here or there just to push certain archetyes a little further.
I'm thinking about dropping Cursecatcher for Waterfront Bouncer despite it seeing a decent amount of play actually. The other candidate for dropping is Coral Trickster Thoughts on this?
I've actually got a huge list of changes that I'm looking to initiate, but I haven't got to do any trading in quite a while. The list is something like 32 cards going in and out. Major updates should finish off Prison and bring reanimator really close to being done, aside from a couple of enablers and perhaps some more targets.
I think the cube is to the point where it's pretty solid and I feel okay to drop a decent card here or there just to push certain archetyes a little further.
Absolutely. There have been a lot of posts/threads on the forum recently about balancing archetypes or what the correct number of a certain effect is. For relatively narrow cards, if they are unsupported they will never be played. Conversely, if there are too many cards hosing a certain archetype it will have difficulty winning. A card may be more powerful than another in the abstract, but the weaker one may be more necessary in a particular cube.

i would run neither of those blue cards:
how about any of these?
at the 5CC blue Creature slot
try any of these first:
at the 4CC spell
To me, u need to ahve Meloku in the cube somehow. It is nuts.
for a regular vesrion it is cheap, like 1, 1.50 for one too.
Opposition, Rewind and Rite of Replication are all pretty cheap in terms of value
