Simic's take on Valgavoth, Terror Eater that can be found with Natural Order. Like Valgavoth, this is almost impossible to beat if cheated out early due to ward 4 and the fact that this can easily kill you in two attacks. 8 power + trample makes the damage trigger very easy to obtain and makes this very powerful with Sneak Attack / Through the Breach / Shallow Grave / etc.
Yep, we saw this dude and pretty much immediately said he's going in. Sneak target, breach target, reanimate target, natural order target and he's also just straight up castable in a UG ramp style deck.
I once farted during the final match for prizes at an FNM. It was a tense moment, everything was quiet, control vs control, I was about to mana leak, thought about it.. and farted. Then mana leaked.
Yeah this is a good target. Works with most cheat spells except flash. When you cast it at least it can't be countered and has ward 4.
Overall pretty good target, however since I run a 360-card cube this doesn't make it in.
The pattern of the top targets is that they have some sort of ETB that allows you to get value right away, no matter what happens. That's why this creature doesn't cut it for me. But cool card for sure, glad Koma is back!
Think it’s competitive with tier 2 reanimation fatties and definitly worth a test.
one of the strongest cards to be cheated out early in the game when a battlefield isn’t established. Kills so quick and ward 4 is basically hexproof then.
Theres a lot to like about the card but it comes with its weaknesses relative to the competition.
Edicts, wraths, councils judgement/chaos defiler or a wide battlefield that can attack around it. Not working with flash.
regardless. Hardcastable, reanimation, NO, sneak/shallow grave effects. Ends the game very fast. A lot to like.
Definitely trying it, I still have Simic Sky Swallower as a big dumb cheaty target and this seems alot better.
Losing the hard protection is sad, but this guy is equally tough to answer before turn 4/5, and even then they are likly tapping out to do it so it's almost like Ward: skip a turn.

Overall pretty good target, however since I run a 360-card cube this doesn't make it in.
