WOW! Please, please, PLEASE let this be WOTC realizing that delaying counterspells are firmly within white's slice of the pie while hard counters are blue. And maybe both can get taxing counterspells? Please.
Either way, auto-test. Probably taking out mana tithe despite how much I love it.
The only reasons not to run this in a powered cube environment would be either perceived color pie concerns or Universes Beyond/aesthetic aversion. I have neither. This is going straight in.
Wow!! Works in any kind of environment. Excellent card for cubers everywhere from hardcore power cubes (which will probably eventually bump it in favor of more EXTREME POWER) down to weirdo peasant theme cubes.
I've honestly never liked Remand much. But in white, I love it.
Not crazy about Universes Beyond, but only the flavor text is even LOTR. They'll most likely reprint this at some point with with art and flavor of a normal MtG card.
Yes, it works the same as Venser, Shaper Savant does with spells. Remand specifically has an "If that spell is countered this way" clause that makes it not work vs things like Thrun / Carnage Tyrant (sans drawing a card).
What I'm most excited is this cements Jeskai as the spells matters triome and not grixis.

Didn't mentor already do this? =P
I don't see how one more card tilts anything in any way. UR in general are the primary spells matters colors, IMO, with white and black being tertiary. White really only contributes to the payoff side (Monastery Mentor) and not so much in terms of critical mass of spells / enablers, while black has both enablers and payoffs with storm support (Dark Ritual / Yawgmoth's Will / Tendrils of Agony / etc). Context really matters, especially if storm is supported or not. Kykar, Wind's Fury and Kess, Dissident Mage both exist, each shard is perfectly capable of being "the" spells matters triome.

I was just making a dumb joke, especially since I also run Sedgemoor Witch lol.
True spells matters drafters just run 4 color piles anyway.

Yah Sedgemore has been a bit of a sore thumb for its color.

I think black offers a lot to the spells matters shell, and Witch has been awesome. Tutors, discard spells, and K Command are sweet in those decks.
Yeah in my experience the deck is always URx, and the x is white or black based on whether I see witch or mentor in the draft. Both W and B offer nice additions to the deck as a tertiary support color or as a full third color if your mana works out.
white used to be more clearly a spells matters color for a brief period when soulfire grandmaster was a staple and some people ran seeker of the way.
It still has mentor and the premium removal spells that are worth splashing. Mother of runes is secretly decent in those shells too.
Sedgemoor witch is a reasonable include, but I dislike it. People stretch black very thin with multiple parasitic archetypes, and sedgemoor is narrow but in a different direction. It’s power doesn’t compensate for its narrowness.
you pay 2 mana and it doesn't even get rid of my opponent's spell? they get it right back to hand? and all I get in return is a cantrip. It's like you pay 1W and nothing happens at all
I'm skipping this for a much stronger card that recently pinged on my radar, Devoted Hero
White Remand! This is actually better since it doesn't have the ". If that spell is countered this way" clause.

Putting this in. Want to wait for better art/flavor, though. Art does not look like a counterspell.

I don't want too many white counters, but it's nice to have another good one. I'd like a 2CMC lapse of certainty.

I also like Sedgemoor Witch, I think even if you only get a single trigger out of it during a game its worth the cost.
