I'd play a 1B charm that gives you a choice between Cut Down, Duress and Urborg Repossession, but this card does so much more its ridiculous.
Power-level wise, this is absolutely broken thanks to its insane versatility, but my biggest worry is that games with this card will get slowed down to a crawl due to the ridiculous number of options available. There's of course the pure power level issue as well: this would probably be the strongest card in literally any deck you could draft in most unpowered cubes. Lastly, of course, it is not eternal-legal, which excludes it from consideration for some people.
If I were to add this card, I'd probably just house rule that you need to decide up to 3 cards while constructing your deck, and cannot copy anything else with this. That would alleviate the issue of having too many options available, and would curb the power of the card a bit to a more reasonable level.
What in the blazes. I truly like this on wild and power levels, but damn that’s a lot of choices, and I think playing it as it’s printed is gonna be a major headache. What’s the current number of cards this could be? Hundreds, at least, surely, and that pool will change periodically. ALL of my playgroup and I dropped standard long, long ago, and don’t keep up with what sets are legal, so this is going to involve a lot of screen time searching for the perfect spell.
Yeah, I like where they were going with this, and it’s very (VERY) powerful and the epitome of versatility, but I think it’s a pass for us because of the “standard” restriction. The house ruling of a pool of cards to pick from or just writing down choices is a fine way of taking that time wasting out of the gameplay, but it’s still just seems like a headache to me.
I'll definitely be playing this. The Standard restriction is sort of annoying, but I generally don't like errataing cards, so I'll just play as-is and see how it goes. Mild hesitation solely due to most people who I'd cube with aren't active Standard players, but the existence of Arena means that more of them have at least some awareness of what's been released recently.
I would probably make the player make a list of candidates during deck building to try and speed things up. But this one is pushing it on stalls especially since most of us won't know all the cards in standard

Yeah, I certainly don't know what's in standard that I'd feel comfortable running this. Super neat card though. It's obviously very good if you are au fait with that format.
If I were to ever try this I would have it so that it can be any instant or sorcery in the cube, not standard. The cube list is usually pretty well known by most players and it isnt hard to think of a counter, removal spell, burn, or reanimator spell you might need.
Similar to how people use booster tutor and just have a "pack" of cube cards to choose from.
Super cool card but my group doesn't follow standard. The game would grind to a halt every turn as they constantly have to consult the list of cards in standard and try to figure out what card is best in this situation, and if it's worth cashing in now.
I play with a few players who are slow af on any decision like this, unfortunately, preventing me from testing this in my cube.
I'll only play un-cards that I REALLY like, as opposed to ones that make it purely on power level. This gets there on power level fwiw.
Lol, yep. This card is cool and very strong, plus it's the kind of un-card I like to run. However, given that we'd need to constantly check scryfall for every legal card this could be, that's too much time invested.

On spoiled card wishlisting and 'should-have-had'-isms:

Amazing card if you have the right group though.
