Kind of a mono red Izzet Charm that reminds me a lot of the flexibility of Abrade. I'm always looking for more flexible discard outlets, and this fits the bill perfectly. My only complaint is that it's rummaging instead of looting, but this is probably the best true rummage effect we've seen since, I dunno... Daretti, Scrap Savant?

I don't see the secondary option coming up a lot. It's a lot weaker than Tormenting Voice, since it doesn't replace itself, and you usually have a target to hit. I would rather be able to hit a player as a secondary option, as in Incinerate.
I like Abrade a lot more. More often is there a nasty artifact you can't burn than are you sitting there with an extra burn spell you don't really need, and a hand full of extra cards you'd like to pitch.
The other thing is I just want to play Bedlam Reveler for my cube. I;m hoping I can slowly build up to that density with more cards like this.

I like this quite a bit. Going to cut either searing spear or incinerate for it because i like to cut down functional reprints where possible and I have enough burn to the face as is.
Was just talking to the playgroup about this card, we think it looks great as aggressive decks can likely find use for this card once in a while, but more notably basically all the non-aggro red decks can seriously take advantage of an instant-speed double rummage when the burn isn't good (Reanimator, Artifact Ramp, Time Vault, Through the Breach combo, Izzet Control, etc). Card looks super sweet imo, and this hitting PWs really puts it over the edge. It's ust so versatile that I'm excited to draft with this, possible card disadvantage be damned.
Solid floor , low ceiling card that can see play in every Rx archetype…
If you looking to increase discard outlet density this seems like a great place to start.
it doesn’t do anything… well. But it does a lot of things. Hard to imagine it ever being bad.
I like cube to be composed of cards on a sliding scale of versatility to narrowness with the cards power increasing as it becomes narrow.
This falls on the low power -> high versatility part of the spectrum.

I was on Mardu aggro the other day with a good deck, strong curve but it lacked draw (Dark Confidant, Skullclamp), Looting (Seasoned Pyromancer, Faithless Looting), Discard effects (Liliana of the Veil, Crypt Breaker) or any scry effects (Woe Strider/ Magma Jet) and was having difficulties with both hitting its 4th land drop + flooding.
This might not be the flashiest card in fair decks, but these type of effects can go a long way in decks that plays 17 lands + its curve ends at 17.
