This is an interesting card. 2 mana 2/2, 1C sacrifice a creature +2/+2 + scry.
Bloodthrone Vampire is an incredibly card in a sacrifice deck, but what is slightly holding it back from being an all star is its starting stats was a 1/1. I frequently found I needed to throw multiple creatures to threaten to attack into bigger creatures. (The difference between 3-4 power/ toughness was huge)
Flesh Taker could be a turn 2 for 2/2, Turn 3 attack with a 2/2 and potentially threaten to easily grow to a 4/4 or 6/6 can make blocking very tricky for the opponent.
He is also a serviceable sacrifice outlet for the Melira Combo - not as good as Altar of Dementia for an all-in win, but is a fine creature on its own and provides a Plan A/ Plan B for the Melira Combo deck.
I plan to be testing him in the future as I plan to move Melira combo from less all-in to more Plan A (Go wide with creatures) / Plan B (Persist Infinite Loop) archetype.
The problem is I might be downplaying the 1C cost for sacrifice
I'm actively maintaining a comprehensive article to help explain to new cube players how some complex vintage level cards work in a cube environment. Vintage Cube Cards Explained
