Golgari Daretti, Ingenious Iconoclast that has synergies with Survival of the Fittest / Green Sun's Zenith / Recruiters / Reveillark / etc. Seems like a slam dunk to me, being green is huge since it's pretty easy to cast it on turn 2.
This is sweet. It's the fun synergies with the static ability that make it worthwhile. The abilities are all awesome for green/black, but they're pretty standard stuff for planeswalkers.
But it's a mythic in MH2. I won't be buying any packs, and it would be worth probably $3.00 to me to obtain. It'll probably be worth closer to $15, so I'll never have one.
Could someone explain the first ability? Does it mean if ts a creature in your hand/ deck/ graveyard and you can recur it/ GSZ for it?
But OMG the first, second and even the third ability. THIS IS AMAZING. This is just absolutely perfect for an aristocrat deck. It has a built in removal engine, token engine and its ultimate could be used after sacrificing your board for 5-6 damage.

I'm actively maintaining a comprehensive article to help explain to new cube players how some complex vintage level cards work in a cube environment. Vintage Cube Cards Explained
What a sweet card. Daretti is a beast, this looks even better. We don't often (if ever?) get 3 mana value PWs that make attacking tokens on an uptick either
Yeah this is an interesting card for sure. Basically a [[Daretti, Ingenious Iconoclast]] in golgari with some interesting tradeoffs (-2 instead of -1 so you can only do it half as often, can't kill non-creature artifacts, the "get another" counter thing will basically never happen as I have ONE insect in my cube, but you can hit PW's, you're more likely to have a creature in play to sac the turn you play it than you are to have a random artifact, the tokens can attack, the mill is very relevant in golgari, and it's gettable with creature tutors which can be VERY strong). I will 100% test this, as I love daretti and my gut instinct is that this card is stronger.
I also learned my lesson with Wrenn and Six and will buy one while the set it being opened lol.
Also gets around Spell Pierce / Force of Negation / Negate which is a nice little bonus. The only cube applicable downside I can think of this being a creature is that it doesn't play well with Oath of Druids / Selvala's Stampede.

Well and it can be essence scattered and anything that can discard creature cards from hand, but I'm not sure how many of those effects are cubable.
Edit - cards in my cube that make the creature text a downside if your opponent has them - bribery, scarab god, gyruda, deathrite shaman, scavenging ooze.
It also wont trigger any of the "when you cast a non-creature spell" guys (monetary mentor mainly), but that's a very edge case.
Well, I guess I'm not planning to play the hybrid squirrel any more! Card has so many neat synergies with other effects. Looking forward to cubing with this.
It's kinda funny because the PW abilities are decent, like kinda mediocre even, but the Creature clause just has so much versatility (like you folks have already noted). I really look forward to playing with this card.

IMO the creature clause is just a really, really nice bonus. Otherwise, a majority of its weight is carried by its normal planeswalker abilities. I think this would a be slam dunk regardless of its static ability just due to the fact that it's so close to RB Daretti anyways. +1 to make a 1/1 with no restrictions is unprecedented on a 3-cmc planeswalker: Daretti's tokens can't attack and Nissa makes 0/1s.

Yeah in retrospect, you're right. It's pretty darn strong. I kinda forgot this is just a 3-mana walker. Without the static clause, there's still a good chance I'd end up playing it. My problem is that I think I was comparing to the wrong cards. But at any rate, I think the static clause is, in fact, humongous - we've got Rec/Sur, GSZ, creature tutors, Reveillark, reanimation (if you really want), all of which you pointed out in the OP. It's these broad synergies that really get me excited as a cube designer.
— Caring about Insects is offbeat and doesn’t go with much else, which has pros and cons. It’s kind of fun for Hornet Queen, Brain Maggot, and of course Mirror Entity to give Grist a tiny insectile boost, but I get nervous about including too many cards with false flags because I like cube themes to be easy for new drafters to spot. Hopefully people see Grist as a signal for “fill my graveyard” not “try to draft Insects” because Insect tribal is not going to be supported any time soon 😀
Cool card. What happens when you cast Animate Dead on it? Since it stops being a creature?
Animate dead falls off and then....I dunno? lol. I think you would sac the PW since it's referencing the object animate dead enchanted, as that's what happens with the Theros gods, for example, if your devotion is too low (animate dead falls off and you sac them even though they aren't a creature).

I counted 26 cards in my 540!

— This is the best Golgari planeswalker for supporting and signposting a fill-your-graveyard/dredge theme.
— Speaking of filling your graveyard, “in addition to” means Grist has two card types for Emrakul, the Promised End, which in my cube basically always ends up in the Golgari deck.

3, since Legendary is also a card type.
Negative. Legendary is a supertype, not a card type. Card types are artifact, creature, enchantment, instant, land, planeswalker, sorcery, and tribal.
