One of the rares of the lands-that-are-also-stuff cycle that I'd missed, and saw that it hasn't been discussed yet. ETBT is not the best, but the card selection is not bad at all and a worst case cycling 2R if you top deck it with an empty hand (still better than a land, I guess). I could see the most obvious use of this to filter lands out of hand for more gas mid-game.
It's a pretty bad topdeck (worse than any of the cycling lands, but better than a normal land) and since it's a CIPT land you are incentivised to play it on turn 1, so it's only good if you kept a land heavy hand and kept drawing lands or you need this specific kind of self-only windfall effect.
I've been curious about how strong this card is in combo decks.
I've done 4 drafts in Dominaria and I've found Thrill of possibility was borderline unplayable, even in spells matters shells and Impulse to be just filler at best.
I could see this being a bit stronger in decks that are looking for redundancy for storm/ lands/ artifacts etc.

Those cards performance in domanaria barely reflect how they do in another format.
They are combo enablers. In some decks, the value of digging to a few specific cards is so high, that deep selection matters a lot.
Thrill of possibility is only a playable card if there are many cards in your deck that are worth more in your graveyard than in your hand. (tons of flashback type cards or in reanimator).
That is not simulated at all in traditional limited formats.
Ponder and mana leak aren't even good in most limited formats
Does anyone here have experience with this style of effect?
my theory is this is less playable now with the full triome cycle taking up a similar CMC role.
