This card is exactly what Black and Green want to be doing in my cube. Early game, it's a really nice toolbox, and late game, it's a huge beater for only 2cmc. Looks like it should fit in black decks with recursive 1-drops, green ramp decks, and Black/Green Survival of the Fittest/Recurring Nightmare decks.
I can't say I'm pleased to see you and must warn you I may have to do something about it.

This card's pretty good. Decent toolbox card for grabbing utility creatures, searches up creature-based combo pieces, and randomly grows into a sizable threat. Good with token-makers and recursive creatures too, so Aristocrats shells will also like this card. Will test.
I've had a hard push to creature based combo decks in the last year, where it's a midrange deck with tons of creatures and a couple combos. This may finally get me to critical mass. It also might get me to re-add Prime Speaker Vannifar.
This looks awesome. I particularly like how it's not just a hybrid BG card, but it actually goes best in Golgari decks because of the creatures you want to sac and tutor for.
This is goong to make Survival/Recurring/GSZ decks more consistent. Will probably remove birthing pod now. Will try to replace deathrite shaman or dare I say a golfari removal.
Also a Lhurgoyf that feeds itself as a bonus. Decent in aggro then provides late game utility as well.
powerful and skill intensive. Skill intensive in drafting, playing and deck building.
think it’s safe to call it a slam.
i can’t wait for the day there’s enough graveyard pay off for self mill To be a thing in cube, this makes it one step closer.
I've lately been including more Dredge cards and I think this would make a fantastic addition to my golgari section. I'm also pleasantly surprised this didn't have some annoying birthing pod-like function; seems much better to just choose the cmc you're aiming for through paying mana.
I don't think this is better than deathrite (that card does SO MUCH WORK), but I run 4 cards per guild and am still running lotleth troll, which is a pet card of mine, but I will definitely test this in its place (I only run Trophy of the trophy/pulse/decay set).
You get a repeatable color-agnostic GSZ as long as you have food for it, which shouldn’t be hard in green and black. It looks way better than something like Evolutionary Leap, for example.
The selling point for me is the body. I like how I can reasonably get like a 4/4 body out of this card for 2 mana, in addition to all the tutoring utility it brings.
I think this is an easy swap for Deathrite Shaman if you're still running him. DRS is fine in cube and be a decent value dork, but I think this 'goyf variant is just a bit better with a much higher ceiling. If you're not running DRS and your Golgari section is just removal.section, then you can probably get away with cutting either of the 2cc removals for this dude. Either way, I think he deserves a test in probably even 360 lists.
This looks like a durdly value engine to me. I'm not sure if I'm buying into the hype around this card?
I'm with you. It's fine and wight of Prentice 6 was an ok body, I like that it is a hybrid and maybe I will squueze it in my rainbow section. But I am going to pull drs for Meren not this guy. It has a strong Yisan, the Wanderer Bard vibe. Interesting, maybe fun but a lot of set up, lot of turns, lots of mana. So there has to be an amazing game ending combo at the end of that rainbow to be worth it.

I think I’m with you guys, I’m not quite seeing it. In constructed sure, multiple copies give redundancy plus it is bigger later in the game. Without a combo you can tutor up for cheap quickly that wins the game I feel it maybe too durdly and mana intensive to make small advances to your board state, plus needing fuel for it can be a concern. In its defense it’s not like the pod chin that can have holes in the cmc increases, but again it’s a lot of mana to pull up bigger stuff that you would want
For those wondering what other are seeing in this card: maybe you are expecting too much from this. The bar for a hybrid 2-drop shouldn't be too high, and this creature will often be a 3/3 or 4/4 for 2 mana, with additional utility strapped to it. That's plenty good for how easily you can include this card in your deck and how easy it is to cast.
Of course I guess how easy it is to give this card a cube slot depends on how you categorize and/or impose caps on hybrids. If you group hybrids together with true multi-color cards it's going to be *much* tougher to find a slot than if you don't. For us it's very easy as we don't put any caps on hybrids, we basically include them if we think they would add something beneficial to the cube, and then tweak the size of the colored sections to the amount of hybrids each has access to. That works pretty well.

Just a thought
Double hybrid mana requirement is a big jump from single though and is pretty tricky to categorize.
