Seems great to me. Cheap green removal with a cantrip to compensate for the deer.
Compares pretty well to Beast Within and Pongify, although those are instants, and better against bounce.
Edit: Yeah, I think I got a little overexcited on this one. Beast Within hits anything, so it's not really a fair comparison. Lignify and Pongify are probably the cards to compare it to.
one of the best things about beast within is turning a nonceeature into a creature. Turning nicol bolas, planeswalker into a useless 3/3 is its strength, not so much turning primeval titan into a 3/3.
I’d say this doesn’t compare favorably to beast within as removal. The can trip does make it interesting though.
I've never been a Beast Within fan. It always seemed to turn a legitimate threat into another legitimate threat. Occasionally it did create a "useless 3/3", but usually that 3/3 was just something else I then had to deal with.
I think this could be cool. Not answering Moat/Opposition/Sneak Attack/Jitte/Memory Jar/PWs/etc makes this worse than both Beast Within and Song of the Dryads, but I play both of those at 360 powered to good effect, so maybe this is worth a test. I am worried however that this falls into the Ravenous Chupacabra category in that there are some matchups where opposing creatures either never come down until its too late for you or they come down too fast for you to get a good target, and in a color like green where card advantage is so scarce, having this dead in your hand G1 instead of a mana dork or a fatty can just be rough. Definitely worth testing if your cube is bigger than mine, but personally, I think I'll pass.
I don't know if I've ever been sorry to see this card. This is some of the better creature removal in green. Green decks really aren't afraid of the opponent having a 3/3, and it's not uncommon to use this on one of your tokens just because you need the cantrip. Early on, that can be really powerful, since the 3/3 is still quite relevant, and a cantrip can draw you a crucial land.
This probably isn't for the smallest cubes, but I think it's absolutely worth testing at mid-size if you are on the lookout for green creature removal.

What’s cool too is because it doesn’t destroy it can turn an elf into a hasty bearer to snipe off a plnaeswalker.
Not interested but it’s definitely close
