Destroy any number of target planeswalkers. Choose a planeswalker you control. Put two loyalty countrs on it for each planeswalker destroyed this way. This path to power is often paved with atrocities.
Whoa, this is cool. I have ~35 planeswalkers in my 720, so this may not be the most practical card in the world, but if my planeswalker count goes up with this new set, I can definitely see a lot of value...and my cubers will 100% want this in if only to punish the folks who run too many in their decks as hard as possible. I think it's worth a spot in any planeswalker-heavy cube in the same way we run Naturalize effects.
Even with a good amount of walkers, I think this is too narrow. Shatter effects are strong because there truly is a critical mass of targets. Not only that, but Shatter effects usually come attached to a creature or come in a package like Abrade / Kolaghan’s Command / Disenchant.
I’ve calculated the average number of planeswalkers in each deck in the 3-0 archives and the number is less than 3. That’s definitely not enough for me to run a stand-alone planeswalker removal card.
Yeah, since there's now a fair amount of destroy target creature or PW effects, this seems unnecessary with how narrow it is. Like, the 2 sorcery speed 1BB ones with minor upside (ruinous path and never // return) both seem better to me, and I'm only running once of them.

This. I think the scenarios where you have 2+ targets are SOOOO much rarer than the instances where you'd rather have one of the 1BB spells that can kill either their sole 'walker or one of their creatures. Hitting only 'walkers is kinda rough. The 2cmc is nice, but doesn't matter a ton on 'walker removal since most of them will be resolving on T3+, which means that a 3cc flexible removal spell or even something like Vraska's Contempt will be better in a greater number of scenarios.
That being said, the magical Chrismasland scenario on this card is bonkers, where you kill 2-3 'walkers and add like 6 loyalty to your own 'walker to immediately ultimate it ...spicy.
This probably becomes worthwhile in multiplayer cubes though, since the chance of encountering a 'walker when you have your own one out (or killing 2+ walkers simultaneously) is so much higher.
Definitely not for cube if you aren't focused on including sideboard cards. Even if a deck has 1-2 planeswalkers, it'll be dead in too many game states... then some decks have zero and this will be a literal dead card. 10% of the time it'll be insane and borderline oppressive. Hard pass, unless your cube supports an obscene amount of planeswalkers.
I'm pretty bummed they printed this card for standard, as it's such a good sideboard card for midrange/control. It single handedly invalidates super friends as a tier 1 archetype.
