A pseudo Dark Confidant with a much better body. 2 life each turn can be really painful beyond the first, but all of its modes can be pretty aggressive. Ramping to your 4 drop a turn early can especially be powerful in an aggro deck. You can even just give Zuko to your opponent just to burn them out if you really want to. Also good for Mox Amber critical mass.
I'm not convinced this is stronger than something like Kroxa, Titan of Death's Hunger, which have much stronger potential in the late game, stronger discard synergies and could be justified in pretty much any B/R archetype.
A fundamental misunderstanding of the card. You must choose a different option each time. So not only you can't draw more than one card, but after four turns at the most, Zuko must come under your opponent's control.
I doubt this card will see play in any format, except perhaps Commander.
Zuko is effectively a saga creature that lets you order the chapters as you please. I was a huge proponent of the summons from FIN, and I really like the added flexibility of ordering the modes. But none of the summons shocked you every turn nor switched sides on the final chapter. I might've taken a flyer on Zuko if he were mono black, but there's no chance of him taking a guild slot.
