This card seems insanely good to me, as it's a 2 drop vigilance dude that easily gets much bigger and even mana ramps you if you need with a sac engine built into it.
I once farted during the final match for prizes at an FNM. It was a tense moment, everything was quiet, control vs control, I was about to mana leak, thought about it.. and farted. Then mana leaked.
This is pretty good on its own even without lands matters support due to its stats. This will always be always bigger Fiend Artisan and has vigilance to boot. While Fiend Artisan's ability typically has a higher ceiling, it's also much more demanding on your mana. I want to try and support Goyf Tribal with my MH3 update, this is close enough to be an honorary Tarmogoyf.
I think this is a great card, but it really depends on the cube. It matters a lot how much sacrifice fodder you have and how many ways to self mill.
Bonus points for dark depths/stage.
As a fair card in green decks, sacrificing green creatures can be a sizeable cost. A cost that's worth it, but nothing exciting. Exceptions for tokens and ultra premium lands.
In a black based recursive deck however, you effectively ramp each turn while getting your best land and triggering land fall, that's reall good.
So you really want a cube with a fair number of tokens, value death triggers and recurisve creatures accesible to GB.
That used to be my cube but not so much at the moment.

I think this can get there on its own without recursion / lands matters package, it just needs to be in a creature heavy deck. A pseudo Tarmogoyf that can randomly fetch up Gaea's Cradle / Strip Mine / etc doesn't need much help at all, IMO. Having vigilance means will always be online to turn your opponent's removal into Path to Exiles for any land.

It can't sacrifice itself though, so if they target it with removal, you will not get the "Path to Exile" effect.

ya maybe it’ll be good enough for creature heavy decks without great sac targets… I agree it’s ability is powerful without much support.
but it will definitely be a lot better if you do have good targets to sac. And that depends on the cube
I've been burned by the phrase "for each creature card in your graveyard" so many times at this point I don't even want to consider it when evaluating cards. As long as I can use the Wight to Crop Rotation my tokens I'll be a happy camper.
Seems like a cheap amazing value engine. Vigilance with that ability is bold. Absolutely gross with Gravecrawler, but I'd need more incentives to bring that guy back.
I did a good amount of cubing with my playgroup this summer, but i think no one ever played this. Do you have any experience tò share with this card so far?
After seeing this card play out in Legacy, I've learned this was just a bigger Tarmogoyf 80% of the time that just also have incidental value with fetching lands in the mid to late again.
New twist on Knight of the Reliquary that can sac creatures to tutor up any land, pretty cool!
My 270 card Final Fantasy cube.
