I love this card, and you saved me from having to make a thread here for it.
Free discard outlet, permanent +1/+1 counters, obnoxious to block or attack into in combat, hard to block and then draws cards when it connects... gross synergy with draw-7 effects. I'm 100% in for this card, and can't wait to cube it. Good in reanimator, tempo, and draw-7 shells.

I think 2-drops have become so powerful that this might not cut it for tempo. I think its def good in reanimator/ draw-7 thats for sure, but idk about tempo.
This seems decent since it can play a good amount of roles. I really wish you only had to exile 2 cards for flying though, having to exile 3 really hurts this in the early game. This is more versatile than most Dimir options, but this doesn't really exceed at anything in particular either. It's no Baleful Strix, and Tainted Indulgence / Sauron's Ransom / Ertai Resurrected help promote more reactive gameplay, which I'm trying to encourage more.
Psychatog 2.0 is definitely serviceable. I'd be more interested in it if I still played Upheaval, but I cut that a while ago. That being said, this is probably better than it looks: Psychatog was a very tricky card. Getting +1/+1 counters makes this much more resilient than original Psychatog, and the Shadowmage Infiltrator line is pretty big for tempo decks. I might test this over Kaito Shizuki, which is generally its closest comparison that I'm currently playing.
At first appraisal, I'd guess the rank as the #2 Dimir behind baleful strix.
It interacts favorably with all sorts of dimir synergies and is a legit powerhouse with draw 7's.
Curving this into echo of eons for example is particularly nasty.
Dimir is so good at disruption that getting this card to connect and become a 2 mana draw a card every turn is not that hard.
Mega bonus points for being a nostalgic throwback, cute and create interesting gameplay decisions.
Against creature heavy decks it's not that good, but threatens to be an annoying blocker, or swing back to draw an extra card if there's a tempo race.
For a 2 drop, you get a free discard outlet, a card draw engine and a gigantic evasive threat. This is ridiculous with draw 7s (imagine discarding a bunch of cards, getting this really big, draw 7, discard again, give it flying = gg), graveyard strategies, gets bigger and bigger forever, has evasion. Nothing more I can ask for a 2 drop.
Best UB card for vintage cube IMO, probably better than Baleful Strix.

Agreed on all counts! I'm very excited to cube with this one. Support for reanimator, tempo, draw-7s, Fires-via-Anger, and a bunch more.
Card is A+. I am hopeful that MH3 has more volume of cards at mid high level like we have seen so far and less super bombs. If it does it will really shake up our cubes.

I agree with all of this. I think people underestimate the brute power of this card and the huge number of cards it can work well with.
I like that it is a combination of Shadowmage Infiltrator, Paychatog, and Looter il-kor and consquently serves the archtypes: tempo, animator, Upheaval/draw 7s, madness/flashback.
Thr downside is a weaker evasion but between the threat of activation and the Jump it is quite good.
Replacing Psychatog but perhaps try them alongside eaxh other first.
Turns out what was need to get me excited about psychotog was to power creep it. ( I missed that era) I think I will try this as it might be the second best dimir card. It also could be more of a trap than some people here are estimating, but I am not so callous to think I need immediate value on my 2 drops.
Disappointed no-one is calling it psycofrog, that's really my only complaint.
I've ran Strix for years so I may give this a shot over it for variety now that I cut tinker. Is its the correct swap? Likly not, but this little guys too cut not to try.

Even without Tinker, Baleful Strix is the last Dimir card I would cut, it's literally the perfect creature card.
I know it's great, I've just ran it forever and like to shake things up occasionally. It's amazing but unexciting, it's the text book example of generically strong.
To be fair, I expect my drafters will have the same responses as you to my possible cut, so I'm in the minority on being bored with strix.
I can see cutting a card for power level but not because of boredom, unless your group is fine with playing with worse cards. I would think most players would want good cards in their decks.

I think shaking things up is a good idea if you're not updating from new sets. As for myself, I'll be taking out baleful Strix.

I once farted during the final match for prizes at an FNM. It was a tense moment, everything was quiet, control vs control, I was about to mana leak, thought about it.. and farted. Then mana leaked.

Do whatever you want as long as you and your playgroup is having fun!
Novelty and change is something I value, but quite a bit lower than overall power level.
When you look at the bottom 100 or so cards in your cube, the difference in power level between the bottom 100 and the next 200-300 cards you aren't playing are very small. I enjoy mixing things up around the fringes. Sacricing 1% power level for a new experience or a "test" is easily worth it.
Baleful strix is the #1 dimir card at the moment, so I wouldn't mess with it , even if I was "bored".
I wouldn’t cut strix but I do think this surpasses it as the top Dimir card
I don't think this dethrones Baleful Strix. Strix is a guaranteed 2 for 1 and this needs to hit twice to surpass that. Strix always having flying is also very key in contesting monarch / initiative. Frog certainly has the higher ceiling, but it's very hard to beat Strix's floor / average case scenario.
IMO a Dimir 2 drop would have to be on the level of something like Orcish Bowmasters / Stoneforge Mystic to usurp Baleful Strix.

I've been testing this card for a while now and think that Psychic Frog is merely just okay and is nowhere near as useful / desirable as Baleful Strix. Like most Dimir cards, it's a decent roleplayer, but even then this hasn't really been a standout compared to other similar roleplayers like Tainted Indulgence / Kaito Shizuki. It's been serviceable, but nothing special, which is par for course for Dimir.
Good luck trying to block Doctor Tongue.
Reanimator decks love free discard outlets that don't have to tap, and tempo decks love pecking away while drawing extra cards.

Already saw the Emrakul with madness (although I don't think she's good enough for cube) so I suspect you're right.
In any event, I love this card. If it even hits once it starts snowballing so well. I will definitely test this.
