This is a card I been wanting to try out for a while now. Unlike Fireblast, this has a pretty reasonable hard cast cost. It can be incredibly strong in red based aggressive/ midrange decks, at removing key planeswalkers/ blockers to chip in damage, especially as lands aren't very useful in the mid to late game.
I think red players are not going to be excited to pick this up and instead add it to their sideboard for in case the opponent has specifically Sheoldred or a Baneslayer variant, though I could be wrong. I think it's a concession to legitimate threats

I could see that. I see this more as a Heroes' Downfall variant of midrange/ aggressive decks that reads "If you control 3+ lands", then you may cast this for free.
I've found that most games with red/ white are lost via tempo and this can be incredible in the mid to late game.
I played this a few times on the Arena cube and it's been incredible every time, especially in the midgame where you often need to answer an opponent's planeswalker or snowball effect AND you need to get your planes walker onto the field.
There's a number of cards in the Arena cube that have made me go, "I probably should have put this in my cube ages ago", and this is one of them. This looks outstanding in spells matter and land shells, and it should play decent enough in aggro as a free removal spell as long as you have a land to spare. With the shift away from beefy Baneslayer types, 5 damage is enough to remove like 80%+ of the creatures and planeswalkers in my cube nowadays. Cheap / free spells appear to be the way of the future, and I think Mine Collapse is going to get even better with time.

I'm surprised I haven't caught on to this card sooner - Tempo swing on this card has just been incredible.

Does anyone have any experience with this?
