Planar Disruption
Enchantment — Aura
Enchant artifact, creature, or planeswalker.
Enchanted permanent can’t attack or block and its activated abilities can’t be activated.
This has two big upgrades to the 1WPacifism effect: it can also target a planeswalker or artifact and it arrests activated abilities.
Hmmm, I have a hard time evaluating this against O-Ring. My gut feeling says O-Ring variants are better, even though this hits like 90% of the targets. Some stuff it doesn't solve at all (Winter Orb, Elesh Norn, Sulferic Vortex,...).
Great card in a set with another great 1W removal option in Ossification.
As I said there, the more efficient removal options we have, the better. Nobody should be ashamed to play this card, but nobody should be afraid to forego it for something they prefer.
I think this is quite a bit better than Ossification. If this translation is accurate, I can shut off artifact mana with it, turn off planeswalkers, and get a full Arrest effect for 1W? Both get undone by a Disenchant, but I don't give up an extra ETB trigger, I don't have to have a basic land in play, and I don't walk into a blowout against a Vindicate or Strip Mine? Sign me up. It's also worth pointing out that I can still attack a planeswalker that's been hit by this, so I can reduce the risk of the effect being undone by the opponent. I actually quite like this card.
I also like this a lot more than Ossification. The only real downside to this is that things like Goblin Rabblemaster can still create tokens and that creatures will be unaffected by summoning sickness when this is destroyed. Seems pretty worth the tradeoff of being able to hit artifacts and not exposing yourself to a blowout vs Strip Mine / Vindicate / Flickerwisp / etc. Still not sure if I like it more than Fateful Absence / Soul Partition though, but it definitely looks promising.
I'm really not sure if this is better than O-Ring.
Things that are better than O-Ring:
- no ETB if removed (Solitude, Grave Titan, Titan of Industry etc.)
- one less mana (which is huge!)
Things that are worse than O-Ring:
- doesn't hit enchantments (Sylvan Library, Bitterblossom, Sulfuric Vortex etc.)
- doesn't affect static/triggered abilities (Narset Parter of Veils, Intrepid Adversary, Monastery Mentor etc.)
- vulnerable to flicker and bounce effects (Flickerwisp, Soulherder, Ephemerate etc.)
- body can still be used for other abilities (Sacrifice, Convoke, Crew etc.)
I think this is somewhat on par with the O-ring variants. Guess it depends on your cube. It's most effective in cubes with a high density of baneslayers and planeswalkers and it's worse if you play with more mulldrifters and support a flicker archetype.

There's a whole glut of removal spells in multiple colors (or multicolored) that are cheap and take out multiple permanent types to the point where I found Oblivion Rings pretty unnecessary in my cube at this point. For 3 mana sorcery speed, I better get a nice premium effect like being able to hit lands (Vindicate) / permanent exile that gets around protection and hexproof (Council's Judgment) / being able to take out tokens (Maelstrom Pulse) / etc. Not to mention that none of them come with a built-in way to get their permanent back.

I agree with you that O-Ring is a subpar removal spell that wasn't really the point I was trying to make.
I just wanted to draw a comparison between this new card and a well-known cube card that is still run by many cubers and that is often considered a benchmark when it comes to including better removal.
I remember quite fondly the days where we all played Pacifism and Arrest. I'll likely try this out as an updated version of the effect. This hits a very broad swathe of targets.
The part I'm most interested is "artifact'. Without this clause, Sol ring/ Mana crypt will run amok.

Not triggering ETB effects when the enchantment is destroyed is a huge deal in such an ETB heavy environment.
I haven’t gone through my list to figure out what this doesn’t shut off, but from memory it doesn’t seem like that much?
10-20 artifacts/creatures?
On first guess it’s better than Oring.
in general, I prefer instants/sorceries as there are more synergies in my cube with them, but I may test this.

I used to love that card (the life gain was surprisingly good).
however, thinking back, there were many times the creature still being on the board with a static effect was annoying.
the difference between 2 and 4 mana is night and day though. Still interested in testing.
