A new Edict with shades of Hero's Downfall. I like how this can filter out creatures to hit planeswalkers. This will be a 2-cmc Hero's Downfall most of the time vs planeswalkers since it's much harder to have more than one planeswalker than a creature. Being able to filter out token creatures to hit bigger non-token creatures is also a nice benefit. I like this than your typical 3-cmc Hero's Downfall. I've always missed having a Diabolic Edict in my cube since being able to hit True-Name Nemesis and Ulamog / Emrakul variants was always nice. Will definitely test this.
I'm actively maintaining a comprehensive article to help explain to new cube players how some complex vintage level cards work in a cube environment. Vintage Cube Cards Explained
Not a fan of non-Liliana of the Veil edicts, but Sudden Edict was close and this is likely much better for cube. Might actually try this out since Baleful Mastery is great and this is very similar.
Cruel Edict is every bit as frustrating as it is efficient. In a clogged-up board, this will do absolutely nothing you want it to...
Not a terrible card at all but I predict this will rotate in (then quickly rotate right back out) a lot of power-optimized cubes. (I may try it out too but it honestly feels like a trap.) We have so many options available. This doesn't feel like the best one to me.
Edit: Instant speed is very nice but honestly won't change my appraisal of this card. Give it a whirl but I don't expect it to last.
This is so pushed for an edict… They skipped right past a Diabolic + PW edict modal and decided to give us the additional token/non-token thing. This card seems very good.
This is usually going to be targeted PW removal, as others have said it's not common to have >1 out, and even for PW rich decks, the instant speed gives you a chance to remove the first one quickly. Within the two creature modes, this lets you avoid the opponent sacking a trash token, or even get rid of a lone dangerous token like a Serra the Benevolent or Nissa, Ascended Animist token. I think this is a very pushed modern Edict and worth a go at least, in the same way Planar Disruption is a power update to a classic effect.
I'll watch this one, has some solid upsides over other edicts, but I don't know that these upsides will be enough to overcome the times you'll wish you just had targeted removal.

Depends on density of planeswalkers / things that get around targeted removal (protection / hexproof / indestructible / etc). This is probably the most efficient surefire way to get rid of a planeswalker at instant speed. I think this is extremely valuable in my environment since I'm not holding back in terms of creature / planeswalker threats that this cleanly answers.

Def testing.
The non token clause is really nice too, because tokens are really strong at protecting your creatures against edicts. Lots of tokens in cube
