This seems like a strong green disenchant variant. It doesn't provide card advantage, doesn't work on artifact creatures and isn't tutorable by Green Sun's Zenith, but it is very efficient as you only pay 2 mana total, possibly over 2 turns and can be activated after blocking to gain much more than the 2 life you are guaranteed. It's also an Urza's Saga target for green decks, which are the most likely decks to recur Saga and trigger it multiple times.
Seems good, I might try and find a spot to try it if it tests well for others. Being an artifact creature definitly goes some way towards making up for losing instant speed since it will be easier to recur.
It will have less blowouts than something like Nature's Claim but it will definitly slow some opponents with the threat of activation/recurring.
Not hitting creatures could prove too narrow for cube though as it misses alot of must-remove artifacts.
Solid against Agro, tutor synergy, cheap artifact for draw 7 artifact dump and will often find a target in a powered cube.
maybe too low impact, but will test to find out.
I’m very much trying to support artifact decks to NOT be
signet pile -> ramp targets
But artifact matters cards like urza, kappa cannonier, karnstructs, sai master thoptrist , pia and Kiran nalaar. I find the gameplay more interesting and interactive.
Cheap utility artifacts play into that roll very well
This is a pretty solid card since it's cheap and fetchable with Urza's Saga. Not being able to hit creatures is probably a bigger deal than it looks considering the amount of artifact creature tokens there are running around now. I'm not sure if I like this more than Reclamation Sage / Foundation Breaker since those are 2 for 1s, not to mention Pest Infestation / Boseiju though. I probably have more removal than I need right now so I don't think I'll be testing this right away.
Intriguing card. Think I will test it at 360. I have 46 targets (3 per drafter).
My biggest concern is I don't want to see it sit in sideboards of decks that can't activate it only to be brought in against aggro. If that ends up how it is used then it will be cut.
