Any thoughts about this one? I'm mostly ignoring the Defender option; getting a mini-sweeper instead of a lightning strike seems like an interesting variation on Abrade. I certainly rank it behind Abrade, but I don't know by how much. My guess is that there are probably ~80 or so hits in cube that this can kill, not including tokens e.g. Lingering Souls. If it were instant, which it is sadly not, you'd also be able to fend off various tokens generated during combat ... which I think might be the drawback that keeps it out of my list. But nevertheless, I'm still intrigued because I really enjoy giving red options with its spells.
Ehhhh, at sorcery speed I think I'd rather just have one of the various manic vandal variants and I'm already not running most of them. There's just too many matchups where you side this out because they have 0-2 X/1's and the only artifact is a mind stone or something.
I really like this card during limited - the flexibility has been really excellent, with 1-2 blowouts where I was able to get a 4 for 1 with the 1 damage. The destroy defender option has been fairly good as defender is a an archetype in limited.
However, i think in order for this card to be sufficiently strong for Vintage Cube, I think it needs either instant speed AND the second option needs to be a bit more relevant.
