The loss of life is not worth the 1 generic discount over doom blade variants.
I've been playing Arena quite a bit recently and I've found that if you're unable to answer a turn 1/2 dork (especially on the draw), you're not going to be able to keep up with their threats and 70-80% of the time, its game over.
I'm planning to give this a try.

I haven't had too much experience with this, but I don't think its too far off from Snuff Out or Dismember.
I've been cutting my Doom Blade variants in the past 2 years, originally from 3 to 2 and finally to just Heartless Act.
I feel in recent months, the speed of Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer, Minsc & Boo, Timeless Heroes, 1 CMC dorks, and creature combos in general might make Vendetta a slightly better choice over Heartless Act.
What are everyone else's thoughts.

Here are some other articles I've written about fine tuning your cube:
1. Minimum Archetype Support
2. Improving Green Archetypes
3. Improving White Archetypes
4. Matchup Analysis
5. Cube Combos (Work in Progress)

My black decks already tend to pay a bunch of life for effects so I would rather not spend more on my removal.
I would say this is definitly worse than dismember, I'd also put it below the best 2CMC kill spells.
