I think this one fell a little bit under the radar, but I think it might be really good (definitely better than the blue rare initiative one).
Creating two bodies in one turn, makes it harder for the opponent to claim the initiative.
What are your thoughts?
Decided to add this guy. I'm trying to give each colour an initiative enabler. I still had Meloku, the clouded mirror and I don't think I'll look back from the swap.
2 bodies is good for keeping the initiative and it's in a good colour for keeping it other ways like blinking.
I put this and From the Catacombs into my testing list recently (haven't seen them in action yet though). Although I was pretty bullish with testing initiative out of the gate, it still ended up exceeding all my expectations. Now after seeing how good initiative can be, I think it's worth testing out the other enablers that we may have underestimated at first like this one.
I was expecting that White Plume and Dungeoner would both become top 3 W cards, so although I haven’t gotten to play with either yet (mtgo soon pls) I don’t feel like I underestimated it much 😆
These 5 cmc enablers in colors weaker at keeping it do seem worth testing, but if they make it will probably be only barely in if they do make it — much higher chance that opp can get more benefit from swapping land-counters-axe than you if you’re U/B, and the land search has much less value once you’ve already hit 5.

I primarily play limited, so most of my spoiler season comments view cards through that lens.
Cool, didn't know about from the catacombs.
My concern with the initiative was never with it's power level, it's with how game warping or fun it is.
There's limit to the amount of effects I'd want with monarch/initiative, but not sure what that number is.
I like it to be a part of agressive colors identities, blue being the least of them.
Card seems good to me regardlesss
This card has been testing well since I've been playing it, but it does have limitations on the types of decks that can safely deploy it. It's a spectacular midrange card in both the mirror and against control, so I'm going to keep it around for a bit longer and see how it plays out long term.
