I see this in a lot of Cubes, but is it actually good? I’m considering adding more support for the big artifact decks, and I’ve passed over this for years but am seeing that it’s one of the more common cards that I don’t run.
In the cubes I've played it in (primarily the MTGO Vintage Cube), I've always thought it was a clunky trap. 99.9% of the time it's either sitting in the sideboard and not doing anything on the battlefield.
Ilharg, the Raze-Boar was already problematic as it was too easy to remove / no haste. However, its 6/6 body is relevant vs aggressive deck and its upside does make up for it.
This has none of the above.
I think the artifact deck has sufficient redundancy with mana rocks, Saheeli, Urza to ramp into threats. But if you feel thats not enough, there is a lot of support in artifact reanimation in addition to the traditional Welder/ Daretti.
