I think this is easily the 3rd best black super fattie after Griselbrand and Grave Titan. It's definitely strong, but I'm currently not in the market for it. If I were to add another super fattie, it'd probably something that goes well with Channel since that has the least support IMO.
Ugh, I really didn't need another 8 mana black card, but this is certainly competitive with Griselbrand. Arguably better in instances when you're low on life when Grizzle drops. Better against removal, too, when you're behind (as is often the case in reanimator, getting beat down early). Ridiculous with Sneak effects as has been pointed out.
Think I'm past saturation for creatures that are only good in reanimation/sneak attack but aren't really hardcastable.
I don't see him usurping any target I currently run, so I would have to run it in addition.
If you run shallow grave or the non-legendary tutor stuff this guy becomes a lot more appealing.
I like testing him in 720+ cubes, cubes that heavily support shallow grave stuff or 540+ seeking novelty.
Honestly, I'm thinking cut Griselbrand for it due to this card being more synergic in other archetypes as ramp.dec, or control.dec. Also, this is better against removals if I'd be few life points.
To each there own, but I'd really consider keeping Griselbrand around, he's been the best fatty in our cube by mile since he got printed and has been fantastic against removal. Neither of these cards is likely going to get ramped out so I don't think the casting cost differences are really going to be dealbreakers in playrate
Besides that, love this new guy and I think it looks fantastic too. Can't wait to try it out, and will easily find a slot for us at 360 for our reanimator decks and through the breach/sneak attack decks.
