Moritte of the Frost2GUU
Legendary Snow Creature — Shapeshifter (U)
Changeling
You may have Moritte of the Frost enter the battlefield as a copy of another permanent you control, except it’s legendary and snow in addition to its other types and, if it’s a creature, it enters with two additional +1/+1 counters on it and has changeling.

This text is really messy and I’m not a fan of how over-designed it feels. That being said, it was pointed out to me that this enables the persist combo if you have a persist creature and a sacrifice outlet. Worth considering depending on how heavily you support persist and how comfortable you are with devoting a Simic slot to a 5-mana enabler.
That's a good catch. I've been running Good-Fortune Unicorn for this same reason. I don't think this card is going to push it out though. It comes down a couple turns later, plus the persist combo decks tend to not run blue, and this is UU. I think, even with the combo interaction, this is going to feel as underwhelming as Clever Impersonator did.
Every so often, a non-broken looking card will come around, and I'll raise an eyebrow when someone says it may be broken. Usually it turns out to be because of persist combo.
This really is an ugly text box. Two Rules Lawyers died on this card, and they never even cleaned up the bodies. The bit about it being legendary is confusing too, but apparently the legend rule won't hit it if it copies a nonlegendary.
Personally, I don't like infinite combos, so I don't actively cultivate them. I do like this card mechanically, but as a fair card, it's not super great. 5 mana with three pips, and it only hits your stuff. I love me some changelings, but I'm not totally convinced this is better than Altered Ego. That said, it does enough unique things that I'll consider it. Uncommon is always a bonus.
If you're playing it for the persist combo, I expect it to be decent, but compared to some ridiculous nonsense like Oko, or Uro, or Hydroid Krasis, or Nissa, this seems awfully fair unless you're going off. But I don't really know how persist combo plays in cube to be fair.

Agreed, I am not into Moritte as a persist enabler. It’s expensive, color intensive (and intensive in the wrong color), and sends false flags about Snow matters and Legendary matters being draftable archetypes (unless you’re trying to support one or both of those themes).
I love the persist combo in cube, but there are other enablers that I prefer to Moritte. The cheapest and least color intensive persist combo enabler is Metallic Mimic, the hardest to remove is probably Rhythm of the Wild. If you want a Simic persist combo enabler, I love Master Biomancer as a “big dream” synergy card that makes you seek ways to boost its power to absurd heights, while also enabling persist combo.
