Hasty 3 power and toughness 3 CC drop with additional upside that scales as you play larger threats or allows you to pay an additional 1 to immediately swing with the power boost if you already control another creature with at least 3 power! Red 3 CC creatures is a bit of a weak spot in cube outside of the Rabblemaster variants so this is welcome addition for larger cubes I think - narrowly misses mine.
Looking forward to seeing what other Boast triggers we see. The inclusion of Boast is bad news for those who wanted Raid in this set though. Can't imagine they are going to have two attack related mechanics.
I guess this is indeed what happens when you sprinkle some creature-creep onto Brazen Scourge. I try to keep a lid on the creature creep, and keep out creatures with overly efficient stats, but I could see myself forgiving this for being legendary.
I kinda like Boast, but I don't see why it needs to be keyworded. It's not gonna be on that many cards after all.
I dunno, feels like the boast wont mattter as you pkay this on curve. Or perhaps even next turn of you play a larger creature on curve. Decent beater, and I feel ok for 450 as an option, but personally the Rabblemasters still are better.
Taking the spoiler goggles off now. Came in too hot on this one. I was just excited to see red get a 3/3 base stat line with haste + additional upside. I think that is a winning formula but this particular boast ability probably doesn't bring enough to the table in retrospect. Adding menace to the boast ability would have gotten this there I think.
I don't find the red 3 slot to be stacked. Some of the rabblemaster variants are not particularly great IMO. Krenko and the OG Rabblemaster are my favorites here.
Card looks okay, but not great. I think it's a pretty safe pass. Red's 3's are all significantly stronger than this card ...including multiple cards in my on-deck binder.
For example all cards that could see play in my cube and would likely do very well, but the rest of the section is already too stiff.
