Woe Strider2B
Creature - Horror (R)
When Woe Strider ETB, create a 0/1 white Goat creature token.
Sacrifice another creature: Scry 1
Escape 3BB - Exile four other cards from your graveyard, you may cast this from your graveyard.
Woe Strider escapes with two +1/+1 counters on it.
3/2
Super tough card to evaluate. It has a splashable cost, puts two bodies on the battlefield, is a free sacrifice outlet, recurs, comes back bigger and at a place on the curve where Black has been lacking- 5CC. It does so many different things that it may well be good enough for most cubes. In my own cube, I think there's a good case for this against Vampire Nighthawk, Flesh Carver, or Liliana, Heretical Healer. 2 toughness might be a dealbreaker though.
3 CMC in black has gone from one of the weakest spots in cube to one of the toughest. I think this is a great card and will happily play it if I see it in a draft, but I don't know if it makes it into smaller cube. All of the items listed in the OP are right on.

This.
I don't think it deserves a slot in a medium- cube that isn't supporting some sort of aristocrats/persist combo package.
There's a lot of value and combo potential packed into it, but the rate isn't good for an agressive strategy, a controlling one or a reanimation one, which makes it a fairly narrow enabler with desperation playable status in other archetypes.
In a stax build or an aristocrats shell, I'd happily play it, but can't imagine I'd take it highly, almost always looking to snatch it on the wheel and would pass it for many other cards in black.
I probably won't play it, but card is good and wouldn't fault anyone for testing it.
I love this thing. Everything it does is something I'm happy to see. It's kinda like if Catacomb Sifter also did a bunch of other things.
Five mana is not that much to escape as a 5/4. The four cards are gonna be harder a lot of the time. Gotta watch the density of escape and delve cards.
I'm a fan. I think this will probably be solid, and having a sac outlet that doesn't require mana means that in response to removal, you can cash in some worse creatures to ensure that you'll be able to escape more easily. Not sure what the cut is, but I think this is worth it.
I added a small aristocrats package during my last update so I will definitely be testing this card. He's not an aggressive creature but he fits into braids/stax and aristocrats archtypes very well and comes with a free, repeatable sac outlet with fodder. Then he can recur himself too if the game grinds out. I think this cards abilities line up well with black Cube archetypes and will perform well.
I'm happy to see this card, because History of Tymaret was a little bit of a letdown due to whiffability (unlikely, but, I dunno I feel like I'd be the person to jam that turn 3 and get nothing).
I love sac outlets, I love recurring threats. I think this card will make it.
If you support aristocrats / need a free sacrifice outlet for other shenanigans, then this is a shoe-in since it provides an outlet, fodder, and is a recursive threat on its own. Without those archetypes, I think it falls short by a hair for me. Definitely cubeable by itself, but I think this is going to have 24th card syndrome in my decks more often than not.
I might try and find some space for this guy, it juat feels like it does alot for one card and helps out a few archtypes.
Im interested to see how Escape plays out, feels like a solid mechanic, especially for a limited format. Wizarda seem to be printing alot of creatures with built in card advantage latly.
I posted this in the Blood Artist thread - I changed my mind on this card. We’ll give it a shot and see what happens. I hate that black is so stacked at 3cc though...

I actually wish they had inversed the card. Make a mightier 5 drop with a weaker version with a cheap 3 mana 2 card escape
