Really, really like this creature. I want to live the Braids + Rankle Dream!
Gotta cut something though and wondering how sacred is Skinrender at 4CMC when Nekrataal and Chupacabra are already there (cube list in sig for reference)?
My next update is probably gonna drop Skinrender and one other 4-drop (either Nekrataal or Kalitas) for Yawgmoth and Rankle. I think all the Nekrataal variants are great, but my black section isn't low on ways to just shoot stuff down, so I find cards with other abilities more appealing.
This has played great for us. Forcing discard and sacing a creature to me feels like the stonger choice most of the time. If your connecting with him in the air it seems bad to let your opponent try and draw for an out.
Still waiting on my copy for my cube, but in constructed this card has been fantastic. Recursive black creature decks can abuse its symmetry with ease. Stax will love this.
- Absolutely incredibly in decks with Blood Artist to drain the opponent for 2 + remove a creature.
- Very easy to pair with cards like Life from the Loam / Wrenn and Six to put pressure on the opponent's hand
- Stax variant that can run down planeswalkers.
- You can also pair with Draw- Thieves if you want to be really mean
What I absolutely love about Rankle is how strong he is with almost any board state. (Okay, maybe not that strong with a large opposing flier but you get the idea).
I thought this card would perform decently well, but it has been incredible.

Rankle sometimes has a hard time to get in the final 23, because of archetype requirements. But it never dissapoints and has so many synergies going for it.
