Especially after this amazing spoiler season...one of my favorites ever this is especially depressing.
Thank you to everyone who has posted here over the years. I've been on here since I returned to Magic in Shards block. I'll go wherever the people are.
So disheartening. I'm not exactly a vocal member of this community, and my life circumstances are such that I hardly ever cube IRL anymore – my actual, physical cube has been gathering dust for over three years now – but man, spoiler season on mtgsalvation is still one of my favorite (5 or 6) times of the year. I come for the insight and analysis, and the occasional civilized bickering, and it just breaks my heart a little that that's going to disappear. I really hope the mods' "new project" works out – but even then, it just won't be quite the same, will it? (Tho if they could merge with the hopefully new cubetutor site...) More than anything, this forum has kept me connected with my favorite way to play my favorite game in the world, and I'm really grateful to all of you for making it that. Thanks everyone!
What is the advantage for the new owners to shut it down and keep as an archive? Why not just let it continue somewhere else if it doesn't fit your business model? There is no value in having this up in archive mode only for the new owners...
Maybe the new owners just need the right arguments to let us make a start somewhere else?
I guess the big question now is what can I do to help get the new site off the ground and make it into something at least approaching the greatness of the MTGS Cube forum? I'm not a technically skilled person but I'd like to help out if possible.

We should have everything covered getting the site off the ground, we just need people to come back. Be sure to keep an eye out on Twitter / Reddit / Discord for when the site actually launches.
I learned so much from this place
Spent almost six months to read all of the "random cube card of the day thread", and it's the only website I open every day (at least during spoiler season).
I really hope people move to the new website. Will have to install Twitter, I guess
Well that sucks. Been posting here since the early days of cube. Although less so recently, I've still been checking for spoiler reactions. Thanks to all the regulars and not-so-regulars for years of enjoyment.
Please everyone let us know where are folks migrating to, will miss a friendly cube community.
Can folks provide or pm me the discord link, i don't have twitter so will be out of the loop!

I have posted on the Reddit cube group for a short while and here for a long time. I think MTGSalvation has a better format to facilitate conversations about cube, but I've gotten valuable ideas from Reddit too. Reddit has the advantage of being slightly (but only slightly) more diverse in ideas, but MTGSalvation usually has stronger analysis and if there is such a thing as correct in cube (and I think to a small extent there is) I'm more likely to find it here. I can't really advocate for going to Reddit when I see their thread about Mtgsalvation shutting down and multiple posters throwing the word "cult" around to describe the posters here. I've gotten in my share of disagreements with certain posters including Wtwlf over the years and while I've seen what the Reddit posters are talking about, I've also gotten a lot of great ideas/feedback from these same posters (also if you think the Cube forum suffers from groupthink you should see the Custom Card Creation forum). I'm glad I'm still here participating and not combing through that Reddit thread for opportunities to take shots at a community they haven't been a part of for a year or longer.

I believe the best way to keep the community alive is to simply move on to a new domain, a new forum where we can continue to discuss cube-related matters. Seems like you're working on this solution already, which is great.
Been lurking on the Cube forum for a few months. Finally popping in to say how useful the SCD threads, general articles/posts about cube construction, and budget staple recommendations shaped my cube. I've gotten around to actually building one in paper, and it's been some of the best fun I've ever had in Magic. All in no small part to this forum.
Sad to see MTGS go, but happy to find another domain where I can contribute.
Pretty bummed about this. Always appreciated the discussion here.
Sounds like it will stay around through M20 spoiler season, so we'll have that at least.
I've been lurking on this site every day for the past 3 years. This forum's new card discussion has always been unchallenged. I'm also using riptide because they like to cube outside the norm, with squadroning and utility land drafts and such. I'll be staying there until something new comes out. Also a quick thank you to wtwlf for all your set reviews. Thanks everyone who contributed to make this site what it is.

I'm sad to see this site go .
I have primarily been lurking around and occasionally been posting a few comments. However the discussion of cards and archetypes have been a huge help in designing my own cube. I hope the community can move somewhere that is optimal for long term discussion and archiving like MtgSalv.
I'm inclined to check both for a while, but given the problems I have with this site on mobile, especially around preview season, I'm inclined to migrate.

I'll probably bounce between the two before settling on one (if that happens). I really like the cube community here, and will need to continue to stalk you for your opinions.

But the moderation team is still planning to proceed with MTG Nexus. So we'll have to decide what makes the most sense for the Cube community.
