The good: deals 3 damage, and probably for a single mana most of the time
The bad: sorcery speed
The Ugly: actually i like the artwork myself.

It's not the improved Lightning Strike/Worse Lightning Bolt that I was hoping for. It still looks okay, but unfortunately, it's really bad at removing blockers, so it'll probably play out like Lava Spike most of the time. I may test this over Rift Bolt, but I expect Rift Bolt will still be better. Seems like this will be a good addition to medium to large sized cubes.

The sorcery speed is pretty brutal. I would play Incendiary Flow before I played this.

Not being able to remove blockers for R hurts it a lot. It doesn't seem like this would have been too broken as an instant, is it just because it is a common? I will probably pass for cube but ill definitely get afew for the kitchen table.

The worst part is it probably the only lightning bolt riff we are going to get, and I was really hoping for a better one. I guess if its "too strong" it affects older formats by giving burn decks another bolt.

I don't remember where I read this (I think somewhere on MTGS), but it's probably a sorcery because they don't want shocklands ending up being spectacle enablers in Standard.

Not bad. I rate it below Rift Bolt by some distance. If madness is not easy to enable in the environment, it's better than Fiery Temper, but Fiery Temper is much more synergistic, so I'll always prefer it. I also prefer Hungry Flames over this (just to promote a card that I think is probably underplayed).

This is one playable card on a wide spectrum of many playable burns. I'll probably end up playing it, but most probably won't. It's nice to see common burns this strong come out. Sure, it coulda been an instant, but a lot of common burns are just bad, and this isn't.
