I missed this one during the Unstable release, but I've been wanting another Restoration Angel/Flickerwisp effect for the blink archetype for a while, but none of the options outside of those two really impressed me. Ordinary Pony, however I think may have been what I was looking for. It lacks the evasion of the other two, but costs less than Restoration Angel, and is more splashable than Flickerwisp. It has similar wording to Restoration Angel, so it's another combo piece for Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker. Also, it combos with Restoration Angel to create infinite ETB triggers (Purphoros, God of the Forge says "Hi!")
I'm going to start testing it, but for anyone that includes un-cards and supports Wx Blink, Ordinary Pony may interest you.
I think without evasion (Flickerwisp) or flash (Restoration Angel) it doesn't really feel strong enough. With flickerwisp or Restoration angle I can beat down in the air but it feels like Ordinary Pony is just going to blink and chump too often; against the agro deck that might be fine but a lot of other decks wont care about a random 2/3, where as an evasive 3 power creature is a legitimate win condition if things stall up.
Its use as a combo piece is noteworthy, but its not a combo I run so I don't care for it.
Mind, Pony also fails to hit non-creature permanents, and you have to control the target. The reason I play Flickerwisp isn't fully just that it has evasion; it's also a reset for planeswalkers, it can outright remove a blocker, kill an enemy token, move an oblivion ring around, other little things.
I love blinking, but there are about a half-dozen cards I want before I'd include this, because it's a normal body with a restricted etb. I think it needed either a stronger body or a better blink effect, or some other nice ability to make it playable. Flying honestly would have done it for me, but it could have been just about anything. Like, I actually find Stonecloaker more appealing. You make a good point about combo pieces, but, I generally want things cards that are either a) general-use or b) hyperspecialized, and this just feels lukewarm, especially for a 3 cmc creature slot
Yeah, I like Palace Jailer, but I've avoided adding it since none of the players here are familiar with monarch. I agree that it's probably better than a few of the cmc 4+ white cards I'm running, and may eventually bring myself to add it, but I haven't wanted to introduce monarch yet.

Edit: Squadron pick with Half-Squirrel, Half-, give selesnya some combo love.
