I meant to make a thread about this card when it was first spoiled, but never got around to it. This is (like many cards discussed here) only a real consideration for larger cubes able to flesh out their token decks a bit more, but within those parameters this card seems like it could excel. It reminds me quite a bit of something like the flashback on Battle Screech in that it's ideal to cast it almost immediately following a creature/spell that makes multiple bodies at once so as to not lose out on non-summoning sick combat damage (and to play multiple spells in one turn earlier than traditionally you would). Thoughts?
I’m actually really excited for this card in constructed, where it can act like a free Verdurous Gearhulk with proper deck construction. You’d need to be going really deep on that strategy for it to work in cube however.
The problem is that you have to tap the creatures you want to pump, which means you’re never actually getting extra combat damage through. It’s just a really high variance card. If you’re getting this out on T3 or T4 with an army of tokens, it’s going to feel busted. Most other times it will probably feel like limited fodder.
like it for the constructed potential. In cube, I just don't see it..It's big, and (EDIT: OTHER STUFF) gets bigger when you tap creatures. No evasion or trample, just cheap fat.

IT doesn't get bigger, all the creatures that cast it get bigger.
I still don't think it's good enough, but that's a much better effect. I think it needed flash or some other effect to be cubable though. There are much better anthems on bodies at 5 or less.
This is another Convoke card that I feel is somewhat underrated on the forums. We all understand the downside of taking off a turn to swing, but the potential tempo is insane. While not ideal in Boros, I can think of many BW and GW decks that would love Venerated Loxodon. After Conclave Tribunal turned out to be an absolute homerun from this set, we have decided to give Loxodon a spin this weekend.
