I had mostly positive experiences with this card when I tested it.
If accelerated into or reanimated , its very good.
I vaguely recall a few situations where it didn’t stabilize well enough when it needed to that motivated me to cut it.
my take away was good card in a competitive role (not 6cmc red but in function) , it barely fell short.
I've been find for myself it is frequently less about stabilizing against creatures but more about stabilizing against planeswalkers.

Recently replaced it w/Shivan Devastator and haven't regretted the decision at all tbh. I also never much liked the weird clunkiness of Emissary's ETB clause but I still ran it because it would reliably just straight-up steal games I had no business winning. After doing exactly that, more than once, I realized it's not a very satisfying way to win a tight game and certainly not a satisfying way to lose one. No one seems to miss it.
