Gilded Lotus + Ancestral Recall with a monarch twist. Looks like everything I ever wanted The Immortal Sun to be. High risk / reward card, especially cool for multiplayer environments. The wording is a bit wonky, not sure if all the creatures have to be unblocked to steal it or not. Seems more suited for green creature based ramp that can play the tug of war mini-game, this card kind of reminds me of Primeval Titan. Thoughts?
Powerful, but the window where it's castable has to be relatively protected. Since you're the one that needs to tap mana for it, it's a huge risk unless you're positive they can't take it back. And most decks that are playing 6cc mana cards won't be loaded with a ton of affordable blockers. High-risk high-reward kind of card. But if you can untap with it and cast more bodies to protect it from being stolen, it'll obviously be quite good. Too risky/situational for my taste though. A Gilded Lotus with a pseudo-"monarch mechanic" dialed up to 11.
Think the downside is too large and too easy to happen.
Examining the card only For the upside I think the card would definitely be good enough, but not busted relative to the other 6 mana options in cube.
Generally the monarch creatures provided blockers and/or a removal effect that could help you protect the monarch.... as well as a creature on the board to help take it back.
Drawing 3 cards and giving you 3 mana to work with is definitely something...
Toxic deluge pairs extremely well for example.
I overestimated the downside of the monarch mechanic when I first read that, so possible I’m underestimsting this card. But my initial impression is it’s not-good enough. The decks that want a rock like this tend to be creature light.
In a "modern style cube", this is going to be bad. You almost can't even cast it against aggro. However, in a more "vintage style cube" though, this could actually be pretty good. I think this is reasonable in a storm deck, for example. Your opponent never gets to try to steal it if they never get another turn.

if you cast this and keep it. you'll win. if you cast it and lose it, you'll likely lose as well.
In a game where this card hits the board, the entire focus of that match will revolve around controlling it.
I think this is going to be very tough to evaluate and its testing results will likely vary from tester to tester.
