Tezzeret, Artifice Master 3UU
Legendary Planeswalker - Tezzeret (M)
+1: Create a 1/1 colorless Thopter artifact creature token with flying.
0: Draw a card. If you control three or more artifacts, draw two cards instead.
-9: You get an emblem with "At the beginning of your end step, search your library for a permanent card, put it onto the battlefield, then shuffle your library."
5 loyalty
Stax, artifact archetypes, control... what doesn't want this? This seems like a strong potential inclusion.
It's a good card...that's blue and costs 5. I'll prob test it at 540, but like with the Leonin Warleader I don't really need this and could sit behind better options.
This planeswalker looks really good to me. High starting loyalty, protects itself (and develops the board) with his {+} ability, has a loyalty-neutral ability that generates card advantage (that can also be busted in the right deck/situation) and has an ultimate that's pretty exciting. I will be playing this, especially considering the value that it brings to the artifact.dec, which is pretty extensive. Pretty excited for this one.
This seems like a good card. I think all three abilities are relevant seeing as its plus ability could protect you to the ultimate in very slow grindy control, but it seems primarily a draw engine. A loyalty-neutral draw 2 is kind of nuts and it should not be so difficult to enable. Between this and Will Kenrith blue has got some PW goodies recently...
I have a few issues with this card. The +1 is unfortunately only +1 making it very hard to make net gains between turns unless you're already ahead. He doesn't protect hinself well, has low board impact and the ultimate seens neatly impossible to achieve. The best ability here is the +0 ability which could possibly be a good card draw engine but it requires you to have 3 artifacts in play and some way to protect Tezzeret. I think I like other Tez options more.
5 loyalty and then going up to 6 with a blocker is protecting himself pretty well. Karn has shown that high loyalty can be as good as a defense as anything else. Also helps that the +1 enables the 0, which shouldn't be hard to maximize as is and is really good as a 5 mana loyalty draw 2 machine.
I'm not too high on this Tezzeret. It's certainly a good value walker, but it seems below par compared other 5-cmc walkers like Gideon Jura / Nissa Worldwaker / Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker / Liliana, Death's Majesty (which this card compares to most, IMO). I might give this a spin, but I'm still skeptical.
I think it compares pretty comparably to most of those 'walkers, actually. If you put it into a deck that has a reasonable chance of being able to {0} to draw 2 cards, it's going to be very strong.
I am maddeningly unsure about how I feel about this card. I feel like his [0] is significantly better in powered environments; I'm unpowered so I'm evaluating him as like, a milder, but easier-to-manage Garruk, Primal Hunter (a card I rather like). But, I dunno, I feel like he'll be really underwhelming on a busy board.
I think I'm slamming this, even if I'm not wild about having 4 walkers in a color at 360.

Wow, didn't see this one coming. Thought tezzeret was going to be duel deck crappyness only.
0 loyalty -> draw 2 cards on a high loyalty planeswalker is a super powerful ability...jesus. Think of how fast consecrated sphinx card draw takes over the game... Tezzeret draws cards at a similar rate at 1 mana cheaper!
1/1 flyers help achieve the metalcraft and provide some great utility/defense.
For certain I'm testing this... Think there's a chance this is the most powerful card in the set for high artifact density powered cubes.
This Tezz is pretty nice, I'm not sure if this goes in over old Tezz in my cube or alongside him, but I definitely think this walker is good enough. Is anyone here thinking of running this over OG Tezzeret?

In unpowered cubes, I like this Tezzeret much more. I'm willing to bet OG Tezz is better in powered settings.

I think it's worth a test over him if you don't want to run both.
An advantage of this one over OG tezzeret, is it's still solid in a deck with only a moderate amount of artifacts.
OG tezzeret really needs a boatload of artifacts to leverage the ultimate, mana vault type cards to leverage the ramp and ideally something cheap that is worth tutoring for. This one has much less requirements to be good... though maybe the peak upside isn't as high.
I think I probably agree due to things like Sol Ring and mana vault, ect. My cube kind of straddles the line between powered and unpowered bucause I run custom/weaker moxen but I still think I may like this Tezz more. I've won many games off of Tezz the Seekers ult and want that effect represented in my cube, but The Antiquities War has been pretty good in my testing so far so I don't feel married to old Tezz because I can still make my machines march into combat. I like that this guy is more flexible as well and could do solid work many different blue decks as opposed to being strictly artifact.dec. I think I've just convinced myself to test this over OG Tezz. I'm kind of surprised he's this good TBH. This core set has turned about to be a pretty ok cube set.
Antiquities War has been pretty good in my testing so far.
Agreed. I would likely test this new Tezz alongside with Antiquities War, though I've space for all Tezz at the moment even if blue is stack as hell. This new type of artifact.dec shines these days. Pretty wolcome addition to it!
I'm a little underwhelmed compared to the consensus here. I'm a little restrictive on walkers in general and blue is the hardest to crack. Jace tMS and AoT are still better and would sees more play here. Baby jace was cut by me and I am currently using Tamiyo in my third slot. I had planned on bumping Tam for Will.....hmmmmm.....
Maybe I will bend my own rule for a bit and add this because I finally got my Mox set and a Time Vault. Tempted to put in OG Tezz and Antiquities war in at the same time but hell if I know where I will find cuts.
Like this over OG Tezzeret but don't think it is better than Will Kenrith. So for me it is between this and baby Jace and I am leaning towards the latter.
I think OG Tezz is pretty bad in any non-powered cube where new Tezz doesn’t need to be in an artifact heavy shell to shine. I like new Tezz more overall since he’s not a heavy build around like OG Tezz / Agent of Bolas (unless you support Time Vault infinites).
