No, not the original one, that's garbage. Two of the new variants though are pretty intriguing for cube. Both must be major contenders for peasant cubes that run silver border and maybe even larger regular cubes.
Garbage Elemental4R
Creature- Elemental (U)
Battlecry
Roll two D6, create a # of Goblins equal to the difference between the two die.
(3/2)
Average case scenario is 5-6 power, three/four bodies, and battlecry to make those bodies more of a problem for your opponent on your next turn. Being Goblins offers some nice synergy with Siege-Gang Commander and Purphoros decks. Card is very splashable but also has high variance.
Garbage Elemental4R
Creature - Elemental (U)
Cascade
Roll a d6 and deal damage equal to the result to target opponent.
(3/3)
Also seems solid, a free random spell of 4CC or less is quite welcome in red and 3.5 damage on average to the face strapped to a 3/3 isn't to bad either.
Been thinking about these two a bunch. They're definitely solid, but I value consistency pretty highly in my 5s so I'm afraid the first isn't too appealing. When you're making 3-5 tokens it's pretty awesome, when you're making 0-1/2, it's not great at all. Meanwhile, SGC always does what it does, as does Thunderman, as do all of them.
The second is interesting in that it's a bit more consistent in always getting you something of value, but I'm not super blown away by it. Perhaps I'm underselling it, as it does do a lot.
I am interested in the cascade version. The battle crier is just too unpredictable. This is the first mono-colored cascade card to date, and it seems pretty good. Flipping a burn is pretty likely, making the guy unpredictable, but able to snipe enemies at low life pretty effectively. It is a fringe playable card to be sure, but in a cube as large as mine, there is room.

Just to throw some math at it, your odds of making 0 tokens is 1/6, or ~16.7%. 1 token is 5/18, 2 tokens is 2/9, 3 is 1/6, 4 is 1/9, and 5 is 1/18. So I think the evaluation depends on whether you consider 2 tokens to be sufficent, since the odds of getting at least 2 tokens is ~55.6%. If you don't consider 2 tokens good enough, even with battle cry and the extra power over siege gang, it's not going to get 3 often enough to be good for you. If you do think 2 tokens is good enough, it might be worth running as a coin flip card, since some of the time you'll get the blowout 4-5 tokens.

Both are splashable too, which is cool.
