• Tap each permanent target player controls with exactly one word in its name.
• Discard all the cards in your hand, then draw that many cards.
• Return target instant or sorcery card from your graveyard to your hand.
There's not all that much silver bordered about this one. Before the inevitable comparisons to Cryptic Command and Mystic Confluence, the card shows immediate promise. Holding down their basics, and taking a random upside is immediately appealing (note that most of the Alpha duals also have one word names), but there are plenty of other things to do. Getting back a spell and untapping two lands for it seems smashing, especially at instant speed. You can also build your own mini Time Spiral with the windfall plus two lands. Note that this card loves the graveyard (and so do I). There's plenty going on here.
I'll leave it up to you guys to determine how it compares to its predecessors.
Now that we are aware of this card's 5 other versions, this card goes up in value for me. A few of the other versions are signficantly more powerful than this.
I am heavily considering including all 6 copies of this in my Un-Spiracy module, but given to one player as a single draft pick. Seems very very strong, but then again I'm not sure how good a deck with a wall of 4 drop non-threats would be against aggro or midrange. I would love to see a mono-blue Options Tribal deck in action.
Choose two —
• Untap two target permanents.
• Tap each permanent target player controls with exactly one word in its name.
• Discard all the cards in your hand, then draw that many cards.
• Return target instant or sorcery card from your graveyard to your hand.
