i'm not exactly sure what cube is, but I have used Adanto vanguard playing with some friends and I've found attaching squires devotion was extremely nice when equipped. Gains back the life you lose from making him indestructible.
Adanto Vanguard is strong, but I don’t like it more than Accorder Paladin. I gotta say, all this indestructible white weenie has access to now is pretty annoying.

Cube is a premade draft format basically. People take a selection of cards and put them into randomly selected piles which are then drafted.
Between Kytheon, Hero of Akros, Dauntless Bodyguard, and Selfless Spirit early-game indestructibility (or granting it) seems to be a much bigger thing in White decks. It's definitely a trend to watch out for and it places even more of a premium on exile effects as opposed to destroying.

Same, Usman. All too often Paladin eats a chump block and dies. Vanguard gets through for damage because the opponent doesn't want to feed creatures to it, aggro decks don't mind paying 4, and living through a wrath effect is huge.
As far as a pure aggro beater for 2 mana goes, this is one of the best options. The only white creatures for 1W that are definitively above it for me are Stoneforge Mystic and Selfless Spirit.

One of my concerns is historically has been how aggressive decks can push past attackers from the midrange deck.
I really like how this card can attack into a bigger creature (likely get blocked) then finish off the bigger question with a burn spell, Chandra, Liliana etc. without getting 2 for 1 or losing tempo.
I would definitely play if midrange is one of your concerns.
