I'm really torn on this one, because it feels like it's an answer to the strongest decks in my cube and feels almost...necessary? in green...but it also will feel unfun to play against and isn't interesting or sexy. I guess I have a long time to figure it out, though.
To me this feels a bit like greens version of Aetherling. Super hard to answer once resolved and... not the most interactive card ever. I'll probably test this out once we get closer to XLN but I don't want to cut the monarch six drop for it.

I don't think that's a great analogy since AEtherling is immune to sweepers / edicts as long as it has mana open, not to mention is unblockable and has psuedo-vigilance.
Mono green Sagu Mauler, now that's an analogy. Too bad this didn't come out during KTK or before, it definitely would've seen play then.
I've been going back and forth about how boring this card is. It is a bit boring, like the Sphinx, but almost none of my regulars likes Regal Behemoth, so I am most likely making that swap this autumn.
I just hate this card. I'm tired of fatties you can't target, and I just hate the fact that hexproof has completely replaced shroud. I play Sphinx of Jwar Isle, as I feel blue deserves one such card. Green deserves one too, but this ass-bucket--yuk. Plated Slagwurm is plenty for me. This dumb lizard has no excuse for its stats.
I feel about this card the way several people here felt about Gisela, the Broken Blade. Unenthusiastic about this ball of above curve P/T paired with keywords. In the case of Gisela, part of the lack of enthusiasm came from the fact that Baneslayer Angel is a thing. Green is similarly rough with both Kalonian Hydra and Verdurous Gearhulk already filling the big dumb beater roles (but at least they're a bit more interesting). Also, at least Gisela has the upside (or downside) of being more interactive with a vulnerability to burn. Would be nice to have a second green six drop though....
Edit: Just want to add that there is nothing mythic about this card except for the fact that it is pushed.
I'm not super excited about this guy, but I'll probably test it because I think it's going to win games when it resolves.
I thought Gisela was going to be okay, but she's really been over-performing. She dies to cheap removal, but whenever she doesn't ...she just takes over the game in a way few other 4-drops can, and does so right away. Doing that with no additional mana investment and impacting both the offense and defense the way she can has been great. /aside
Carnage Titan fills a needed role at being a great fattie against permission decks for ramp. It is large for the cost, has evasion, has protection and cannot be countered - I really fail to see how this is not exciting.
Well, I'm not "excited" because it's just a dude with stats. I think it'll be plenty good, but we have precedent to know how this card will play. Changing flying for +1/+0 and uncounterable isn't exactly breaking the mold compared to a finisher like Simic Sky Swallower, though I'll be happy to have a monster like this floating around as a bullet against draw-go control shells. A card can be unexciting but still be good.

Pretty much this. We're currently running only one 6 (Primeval Titan). Not sure if I would slot this over Avenger of Zendikar, since we support the token deck pretty heavily. I really hope this isn't the best cubeable dinosaur, as the others spoiled were extremely lackluster.

My Cubes - The Busted Cube. A fully functional, almost 100% custom cube. The project started out by asking "What if other colors got cards on the power level of Mana Drain,Ancestral Recall, and Time Walk?" Draft and enjoy!
Anyone have a link to an improved quality photo/proxy of this card?

Awsome!! Thanks man... Very glad to know this custom card site exists as well.
This was exactly what I was looking for.
I really like green ramp having another thrun like tool against counterspell/removal heavy decks. I know this card is going to be insane in those matchups... what im curious is if it's good enough outside of those matchups to deserve a slot in my cube. I think it will be.
It's direct competition is regal behemoth who's been solid/good, but replaceable.

Except it is one less mana and one less color compared to Swallower. To me, being a good card and being exciting is closely connected. The card is simple, on point and will be a benchmark for other fatties. And it is a dinosaur!
I can relate to this having some close, albeit inferior, analogies to it is more of a known quantity.
I'm kind of shocked at how little the uncounterable is being discussed. That is so huge in Cube, as there are so many decks that rely on counters, and big dumb green decks tend to be extremely vulnerable to counters, since they tend to be relatively thread light and full of mana dorks and ramp. The uncounterable/hexproof combo is a big game. That being said, I'm with those who don't like the way this plays out. I think it's probably okay in powered cube, because everything is kind of broken and stupid, but just jamming this turn 4 on the play in regular cube just sounds like a lot of games are going to end in a very unsatisfying manner.
The uncounterability certainly helps with green midrange's worst matchup, so it's definitely more relevant on a card like this than on a lot of other cards. It's still a narrow ability, but when it matters, it's really all that matters.
I'm surprised by the lukewarm response from some people. It is an amazing mono-green 6 drop. No it's not fun token support or with cool/weird new abilities and synergies but it is what most green decks want. I actually like it better than Thrun. It represents a fast clock, can't be chumped but can be dealt with via sweepers. True-name nemesis is a major player for our group and this card is going to be too. It is still vulnerable to counters when you try and cheat it our (reanimation and natural order) and sweepers can mop it up so I am not worried about it's interactivity.
Kodama of the North Tree 2.0. Depending on how many control magic effects a cube is running, I see value in these sorts of threats for matchup balance purposes. I still think Kodama is pretty solid and this seems better since it's that much harder to kill in combat.
I see Kodama of the North Tree as a (very outdated) aggressive curve topper, not a midrange finisher like Carnage Tyrant is.
It's definitely both, but just a bad option at this point in both slots. It was a fine card in its day, but its not like there are a shortage of green 5s.
Kodama seems bad in aggro. You really don't want 5 drops and certainly not ones without haste (not named SGC). Kodama is/was good in midrange decks since it's something you can ramp into that has a serious clock and can't be targeted making it very hard to deal with. That seems like a weakness of ramp decks these days honestly. You can ramp into big things but answers to those things (of which there are plenty in most cubes) just undermines you hard. There are plenty of game states where you'd much rather have something like Kodama (or this new dinosaur) over any other fatty simply because it trumps so many of your opponent's removal cards. This has gotten worse with cards like Reflector Mage that just make all these unprotected one for one beat sticks look like stupid mana investments.
Kodama used to fill the role Thrun does now, he was just largely worse at the job. Carnage Tyrant is quite a bit different, and I expect it to be better (and completely different) than Kodama was.
Carnage Tyrant isn't the most interesting creature, but it's still gonna kill some fools.
