Resolves with a fat butt, increases loyalty while building a board with zombies, feeds the graveyard, reanimates stuff, and has an attainable ultimate that has synergy with her first 2 abilities? In the weakest slot in the cube? Sign me up.
All those Lilis outhere now... What are we goona do lol. Just can't stop thinking of what it could look in few years when we'd have gotten a few more. Having from 5 to 7 good options of each itiration of planeswalker will be such a headache crafting puzzle.
I'm probably going to run this, but zombify isn't remotely close in anyone's cube, and a 2/2 is good for a four drop planeswalker, but pretty terrible on a five drop, damnation isn't the most amazing ultimate either, though it is relatively achievable. Also I thought everyone wanted a 5 drop creature. A 2/2 etb zombify for five would be an auto include to me, this not so much.

Now imagine if Zombify continued to produce zombies, and then if zombify wrath'd the board except the zombies you produced. You can't just break the card into its parts and say its bad because those parts aren't cubeable on their own.

This is useful and obtainable but by no means the only way to play her. I just love that all the abilities work together but go three different directions. All the reasons why I dislike Gideon from a cube designer perspective, are reasons why I love this liliana.
She synergizes with almost everything black is trying to do in my cube. Reanimating huge fatties, and zombie synergy!
I can easily see running her in the black agro decks (in my cube), as theres a strong zombie sub theme.
+1 +1 Ultimate, is basically win the game in those decks in my cube.
Another thing I like about her, is she's not amazing in EVERY black deck.
In fact, low win condition counterspell heavy U/B control, I think would NOT play her if I was over-saturated with strong cards.
Unless you can break the zombie wrath symmetry, or have solid targets to reanimate, she's not a powerhouse imo.... (still playable)
Widely playable, absurd in some decks, rewards synergy, not a slam dunk in every black deck = perfect planeswalker
Will try this over LotV, trying to limit my cube to 2 walkers per color and I think this one seems more interesting than LotV given that good black fivedrops are scarce and threedrops not so much.
I think this cut and your Gideon cut are bad. If one has to go because of a limit, I wouldn't add either of the new ones.
If you are behind you probably have a reasonable target in the graveyard off the bat, either one you discarded knowingly or which died naturally in the course of getting behind in the game - making this a Zombify that leaves a strong Planeswalker behind for B extra. Not the worst scenario at all. I will be slamming this into any deck that isn't aggro.
In control decks I will likely not have a good target in the graveyard. It needs a high density of relatively expensive creatures (3+ mana?) to be worth it. I think it will just be yet another midrange black five drop planeswalker. I really wanted a planeswalker for black control, but perhaps my expectations were too high. If she could ultimate upon entry we would be looking at the black Elspeth, Sun's Champion. She is not black's answer to Chandra, Torch of Defiance.
Seriousl question; im currently running ob nixilis of the black oath and liliana vess. Im leaning towards cutting liliana vess so,im not running too many lilis but is the ob the better cut?
I have to agree. Black Oath Ob Nix is really not a bad card at all. Much better than Vess I feel. I think new Lily is superior to either though.

She's a playable for Reanimator, Melira (or creature combo), Black-Based control etc.
I'm really not excited about her, but having some decent cards that can smooth out archetypes I think can be worth while

I ran her for awhile and was quite happy (worked in midrange and value reanimator quite well), but she eventually got replaced by dreadhorde general who was just a more impactful play.

Ever-Expanding "Just throw it in" cube.
For me, it's the "White Reclamation Sage" card. Also, we need better Simic cards, possibly with hybrid mana.
