Ya, it's more like a Kitesail + Skeleton Key when you're equipping a 2/1 with it, but ya. The evasion and the loot will probably be useful enough even with just a +1 power bonus to make it worthwhile. That's what I'm hoping anyways.
Great points Douloumeaux! It's particular setup (between power, evasion, card types, etc) is poised for pressuring 3-4cc 'walkers, and having a colorless tool that plays well against them will be useful.
- Vehicle 1 essentially gives every non-wall creature you top deck haste, flying, and a loot trigger. This is value even if you're "downsizing" the creature since it couldn't attack anyways.
- Artifact creature token generators such as PnK Nalaar, Whirler Rogue, and new Daretti get double duty out of the copter, both for the stat bonus and being able to use the copter itself for its activated abilities.
- Although this can loot, this probably doesn't go into most Reanimator decks since you'll probably be light on creatures and every small creature probably double as a discard outlet anyways.

It's like those two equipments together with an equip cost of zero. Sounds good to me.
Edit* Provides haste too although the Copter gets summoning sick itself. I think the evasion and the haste together will be a boon for aggro decks of all colors.
IMO this card seems like a cheap wayto sidestep a stalled aggressive gameplan along with digging for ways to close the game out. Im imagining droppng this turn 4 or 5 along with a 2 or 3 drop, sort of like u do with equipment.
This is the only vehicle that gets me a little interested in these vehicle. Seeing crew 1 as equip 0 gets me a little excited. I would like to see some of these with vigilance or with static artifact abilities.
One of my fundamental problems with equipment/vehicles/auras/combat tricks in cube, is the removal is so good and you are asking to get blown out and be at a card disadvantage, or in the case of vehicles it is virtual card disadvantage. The sword/jitte work well because it is very easy for them to generate a cards worth of advantage and have a huge upside if unanswered, and maker it harder to get blown out with protection and toughness buffs. Vehicles address some of these issues but the ceiling on these cards is pretty small, almost always I would rather just have another creature. It will often be kill some of my guys and leave a dead card on the board. There are a growing number of people in my group who are even questioning running 5 swords/jitte/wargear/bonesplitter at 360 because they all want to be in creature heavy decks, vehicles are the same and aren't better than the top 8 equipment.
This is much cheaper than a Sword though. You will only ever invest 2 mana in it, whereas a Sword costs 5+ to go online. I'm looking forward to try it, and I expect it to be good. I was hoping for new cubeable equipment, not so much because we're not saturated (I think we are), but just to shake things up a bit. Vehicles seem powerful enough and bring something new to the table, more than another piece of equipment would.
Ya, but I can profitably equip bigger creatures. People seem to be overlooking the fact that over-crewing is a thing. Whenever you have to tap more power than is required to crew a vehicle, there are certainly diminishing returns. And at some point, it becomes better to not even crew a vehicle at all. This is great with a token out, and okay with a Piker or Bear on the table, but quickly loses value when you have beast+ sized creatures on the board. It provides some value because of the flying and loot trigger, but that's not worth a card just to power up a beast. Again, not a deathblow to vehicles, but it absolutely is a real thing that most people seem to be forgetting or ignoring.
Yes, so this is probably only really good in aggro and token decks. Maybe some midrange decks with manadorks too(?). Cheap, pseudo haste, evasion and loot fit very well into aggro. Maybe Fleetwheel Cruiser is better because it has much more power, but I especially like the Copter because it's so cheap.
Aggro decks with a small token backdrop will love this card (it's the shell I'm most looking forward to slotting this into). As will decks featuring Recruiter of the Guard/Imperial Recruiter. Crew 1 is what those cards were born to do.
Tested this today in a Mardu midrange deck and it was excellent. I had darreti, eslpeth 1.0, bitter blossom, and lingering souls, so there was no shortage of 1/1s for crew, but there were also times I was perfectly happy to use a 2/x or 3/x just to get the evasion and loot effect. Once o even used a wurmcoil to crew it just so I could snipe a Planeswalker.
I tested it in a lot of cube seasons, and every time it just overperformed. This is the best artifact we got in the recent years, and one that I can see in my cube forever. It deals 3 damage constantly in the air for every deck, looting for you, dodging important removals... Heck, this card may be more important than the new Chandra in cube!
It's been good, but I don't think it's even the best vehicle from Kaladesh. I'd play it at 450+, but I'd be surprised if it would crack my theoretical 360 for very long.
This card has been absolutely fantastic for us and is BY FAR the most impactful vehicle of the three I'm testing. Being able to include a red-esque finisher in a WB aggro deck is awesome and really really great for cube. I've said it before but this will be the last of the three vehicles to leave my cube, 100%. Huge fan.
Would you guys cut another colour-specific aggro 4 drop for it? Something like Hellrider or Koth. I was thinking about it because we don't play a lot of aggro here.
EDIT: Oops, I'm off topic.
I would definitely never remove either of those, Hellrider is insane and can win games out of no where and Koth is really great with both aggro and non-agro applications. I don't think the 5/3 replaces those as options, but rather gives other decks the option to have a similar creature. The 5/3 is solid as a midrange guy too, since he can be used to grind out games as he's tough to remove.
From your cube I would probably remove one of the 6 eldrazis, most likely new kozilek or old emrakul. Seems like a super high number to have in a 500 in addition to all the other large creatures you run. Gun to head I remove new Kozilek since he's the weakest even as a reanimation target and it's just such a great feeling to get old Emrakul onto the table and attacking.

Not really. All the playable ones are red, so if you're operating a faster deck in different colors having the 4 drop to swing in with is nice.
