I've put her in for testing 5 or 6 cubes and she has never seen play! Bad variance. Keeps getting in the unused part of the cube pile, or somehow doesn't make the cut of an off color deck.
Annoyed, as I want good feedback.. Im on the verge of cutting her. It's the -2 that excites me. -2 -> -2 against slower decks seem devastating, but I could see her being meh in a lot of match-ups too as she effects the board poorly without a card like thragtusk or something to get value from.
How has this card worked in your cubes? I wanted to buy a foil but is it good in cube? interesting/unique abilities. I have a 600+ cube with 8slots per guild
It's great. Works fine in the blink archetype if you support it, while also being a powerhouse midrange queen. Drop it on turn 3 in a Abzan deck feels good in that regard. Although WB is not that much on a blink guild, there's some pretty sweet stuff you can do in either Mardu, Abzan or Esper shard. Our playgroup love it, though it's more of a fair card than anything. For that reason, we run it in the fair module of our cube.
I think this is currently the 5th best WB gold card behind:
Vindicate
Anguished Unmaking
Sorin, Lord of Innistrad
Kaya's Guile
I could see an argument for Kaya, Ghost Assassin in place of Kaya's Guile but the latter has overperformed. Lingering Souls is obviously better than both but that's a white card for me.
I think it depends on what you want your WB decks to do. Sorin is probably the way to go if you have any kind of tokens subtheme, or if your white and black section has lots of ways to use tokens (white lords, black sacrifice, for instance).
Kaya meanwhile functions as a more general win condition in a midrange or a control deck, but you need to protect her. She can help stabilize your life total against aggressive decks or get you some card advantage over a few turns. She's not really powerful enough to warrant splashing her in my experience (nor is INN Sorin), but is a fun enough card in an orzhov deck. She notably has some blink synergies, too, which can be relevant with a lot of white cards, black not so much in my experience.
