Escalate 1 (Pay this cost for each mode chosen beyond the first.)
Choose one or more-
* Target player discards all cards in his or her hand, then draws that many cards.
* Collective Defiance deals 4 damage to target creature.
* Collective Defiance deals 3 damage to target opponent.
I think we have a winner here. It's always nice to see a playable red removal spell that can deal with x/4s, and being able to kill a walker or deal 3 to the dome for an extra 1 will often be worth it, and the Windfall mode is solid flood insurance. I'm assuming the "both" is a mistranslation from the German card, and is meant to be "more" like the other Escalate cards that have been spoiled so far.
I really like this card. I think it's playable just on versatility alone at 3 mana (I mean come on, getting to refill your hand without letting your opponent draw any? Nice!) but the ability to choose more than one for only 1 puts it over the top for me. This is probably my favorite new card.
I like that this is more than 'just another burn card'. The loot effect makes this card usable in red reanimation and artifact recursion strategies as well.
I don't like that red have been very one-sided in the past. But the last couple of years have brought many interesting new aspects to red.
Wow, I like the versatility here, reminds me of Fiery Confluence.
Even if it was a simple modal spell, I would still consider it a slight improvement over Exquisite Firecraft. The Escalate kicker puts it on a whole other level above that.
This is very cool. Like several of you are saying, I love red damage spells that are more interesting than "deal X damage to target creature or player."
Great removal / burn spell all in one. Like Fiery Confluence, it has a hidden 4th mode that can damage / kill planeswalkers. Will probably cut either Rift Bolt / Staggershock / Exquisite Firecraft for this.
Wow indeed. If you cannot pay more than 3 mana, it's only 1 damage behind Exquisite Firecraft and only if you want to hit face. Dealing 4 to a creature and 3 to the face for 4 is really good value, and when you have a *****ty hand the one-sided Windfall is great too.
This is NOT a replacement to Wheel of Fortune, this card's first mode will always be card disadvantage.
Only if you play it without escalate. If you play it with more modes, it's not really card disadvantage. (But I don't think this replaces Wheel of Fortune for us either.)

True, I should've been more specific as in "the first mode alone is card disadvantage."
Tolarian Winds and Wheel of Fortune are two fundamentally different cards. Wheel of Fortune's main function is to refill your hand after you dumped everything into play. Ideally, your opponent should have discarded more cards so that you net more card advantage in the end compared to your opponent.
Unless you have a fist full of flashback / recursion, Tolarian Winds is always card disadvantage.
Putting this card into perspective, using all 3 modes only results in card parity unless you nuke a planeswalker with the burn mode.
That said, I do like this card a lot. Probably take the place of Exquisite Firecraft, despite hitting the face for 1 less, but the flexibility and scalability is pure gravy. I'll definintely throw one in my Niv EDH deck as well, because he drools over wheel effects.
Yeah I misread the first effect as wheel of fortune on the first go-round. Definitely weaker than I originally thought, but I think it's still cube playable.
The name of the card is Collective Resistance, not United.
It looks like Salvation and Mythic Spoiler disagree on the English name of this card, or are you getting that English name from a different source? I'm putting the name in quotes for now, and I'll change the name if we get confirmation that United Resistance is incorrect.

This is a cool spell. 4 to a creature, or 3 to a player/'walker isn't a great split for 3 mana, but the fact that it can be "kicked" to do 7 total damage for 4 mana is pretty sweet. In addition to the 1-sided Windfall mode ...this could prove to be a solid inclusion.

Considering that it looks to be part of a cycle, and the black one is Collective Brutality, the good money's on this one being Collective Resistance.
Think this is amazing. Top 3 card spoiled so far imo.
In the average deck, a one sided windfall is bad to meh 90% of the time, and busted 10% of the time. Tacking that onto a card that will be relevant (and effecient) the majority of the time, is BIG game. It's the hallmark pattern of the best versatile cards.
It's a card that can cause blowouts, generate card advantage (player burn AND graveyard value can both generate card advantage) AND come down reasonably cheap to effect the board when it needs to.
I'm a huge huge fan of this card. My only dissapointment is it's at it's best in graveyard decks, which sometimes struggle with RR, but it's a minor complaint.
I'm quite pleased with this spell. I've had a hard time getting decent wheel-ish effects in my cube, and although this isn't better in that sense than a Tolarian Winds, you don't necessarily end up with card disadvantage if you have the mana. I will be happy to include this.
This is really strong - I was thinking about adding Exquisite Firecraft as an extra 4 damage spell, but I like this a lot better. The bonus Tolarian Winds option is going to play interestingly too, and it's yet more madness/reanimation/Daretti-Welder goodness in red, if played right - there's a ton of that.
I'm happy to have another solid piece of Burn, but all these Rare Sorcery removals are really starting to piss me off. WotC, Rare (and pushed) or Sorcery (and Uncommon); pick ONE. Stop the madness!

I mean, I think straight up 2RR 4 damage to creature 3 damage to target opponent would be on the edge for a fair number of cubes, and this is a lot better than that card. Easy test. I'm guessing the first mode will basically never be used unless you have some extra mana and have already used the first two modes.
